The v6 is worth the extra just for the better thermistor fastening.by Ralph.Hilton - Developers
The carriage would need LM10UU modification.by Ralph.Hilton - Mendel90
I use an E3D v6 and changed the extruder block to gain back most of the lost height. I have used a 0.25mm nozzle with 3m filament and it works fine. I switched the fan for a 40mm one fitted to the carriage which is much quieter than the supplied one.by Ralph.Hilton - Mendel90
I connected mine to the main +12 volt supply via a switch with a red LED to show when it is on. I only use it sometimes so a purely hardware solution seemed best for me. If I am printing several things in succession I find it faster to swap the glass.by Ralph.Hilton - Mendel90
A sheet to put over the printer would be a lot cheaper way to keep it safe.by Ralph.Hilton - Mendel90
for the mosfet on the ramps board. Replace that and see what happens is, I think, the best bet. It isn't clear to me what you mean by "download". The heatbed won't heat so prints won't start if that is what you are getting.by Ralph.Hilton - Reprappers
Most less expensive filament is from China. I order direct which I found to be cheaper in quantities of 5kg + $10/kg for good quality PLA and other filaments. Shipping and customs make up most of the cost.by Ralph.Hilton - Reprappers
That is strange. What I wrote works for me. The fan is on whenever the power is turned on.by Ralph.Hilton - Mendel90
thermistor TT no polarity heater HH no polarity fan left P (-) left H (+) (edited sry.)by Ralph.Hilton - Mendel90
I didn't like the supplied fan and holder - I put in a larger fan and modified the wade block to fit it in more easily:by Ralph.Hilton - Mendel90
An E3D Mendel90 mounting here: The hotend cooling fan needs to be on until the hotend cools after printing.by Ralph.Hilton - Mendel90

It is quite a small print area and costs a lot more than kits for better printers.by Ralph.Hilton - General
QuoteQuackingPlums Joined. Did you have a Mendel90 specific purpose for it or is it just another social medium for sharing stuff? It just seemed like a possibly useful way to link things.by Ralph.Hilton - Mendel90
I use for filament. They will supply any color with an MOQ 5kg at good prices. You just need to supply the RGB value or a picture. Email:[email protected]by Ralph.Hilton - General
I would use an enclosure otherwise drafts can cause warping and your heatbed could take a while to heat up. I made mine from dibond and acylic with styrofoam under the printer but used a cardboard enclosure for test when I had problems in October last year with warps when the temperature was around 10C outside.by Ralph.Hilton - General
Thingiverse has a new groups facility so I made oneby Ralph.Hilton - Mendel90
Another possibility is that the lookup table being used in Marlin is for the wrong thermistor. There is a file called configuration.h where the thermistor type is set. You can measure the resistance of the thermistor at room temperature and check if it is roughly the same as the type set in Marlin.by Ralph.Hilton - General
There should be an option for a melzi board shown?by Ralph.Hilton - Reprappers
A mintemp error means that the thermistor is registering a very low temperature. This occurs when the thermistor is either faulty or is not properly connected.by Ralph.Hilton - General
You need to install Arduino on your computer from . You then connect to the Melzi via a usb cable. If your Melzi came with the bootloader already installed which would be usual then no other board is needed for programming. The Arduino software allows you to program the Melzi with Marlin.by Ralph.Hilton - Reprappers
I find that temperature does make a difference and that higher temperatures give better adhesion printing with PLA and PETG.by Ralph.Hilton - General

You could have a look at the Mendel90 design with horizontal x carriage. It works well.by Ralph.Hilton - General
for a kit with rods, kapton heater available. Here are some rods:by Ralph.Hilton - Delta Machines
Replikeo is in Hong Kong. The shipping might add significantly to the cost. the last one looks very overpriced. I am in Austria but have read the forum regularly for the last 18 months and have seen negative comments on some kits. I have not seen a single negative review on the Makerfarm kits. If I were based over there I think I would go forby Ralph.Hilton - General Mendel Topics
A Prusa i3 is better than anything you will buy ready made for $800. I would spend the money on upgrades for your i3.by Ralph.Hilton - General
The problem could be calibration as it needs to be more accurate for thinner layers - I would suggest getting a dial gauge and calibrating with that. There is a .25 nozzle available for the E3D which prints well at 0.1 I have only tried it with PLA though.by Ralph.Hilton - Reprappers
