I'd be happy if I could find PEI that was as easy to apply as BuildTak. That 468MP tape is a royal pain, it gets all bunched up on the sides. I ordered some 12x12 sheets of it to see if that's any easier to work with than the 1 inch strips.by WZ9V - General
On my 500mm diagonals using the 25000 plates, the Onyx (310mm) bed aligned the mounting screws right on the slots in the diagonals. They may be thinking 300mm to keep the bed entirely inside the triangle. To get to 450mm I'd have to have the bed going outside the triangle by close to 70mm on each of the three sides. I can post a picture if it would help.by WZ9V - Delta Machines

Sounds to me like a bad FET. Try moving the heated bed to the FET that is working and if that works then there is something wrong with either the FET or the driver circuit.by WZ9V - Reprappers
David, if you want to do flexible materials on a delta look at Ultibots PG35 micro extruder. It increases the effector weight but eliminates the Bowden setup. They have a newer cooler version, the UMBEE which is a metal version.by WZ9V - Reprappers
I used a micro switch with a lever to rig up a simple z-probe and it consistently achieves a repeatability of no more than 2 steps and most of the time it's 1 or less. That's with 1/32 microstepping.by WZ9V - Delta Machines
Good to know, I was wondering what the proper rate should be. I suspect it had a firmware glitch or I had trouble hitting the buttons properly (they are tiny on the 0.8.5) and that's why it wouldn't connect and display M115. Now that I've updated it it's working as expected. I kind of expected the PanelDue to be the hard one to get going. Is there a maximum size to the Duet's micro SD Card suby WZ9V - Controllers
Not sure what happened but I finally got it to respond. Must have been a I'm doing something too soon or too late kind of thing. I flashed the RepRapFirmware-1.09k-dc42.bin using bossac and then updated the sys directory with the miniKossel files. What other directories on the SD card need updating? Pronterface now connects at 115200 and the M115 command displays the correct version.by WZ9V - Controllers
I'm trying to get my shiny new Duet 0.8.5 going. When I plug it into the USB port I get a USB LED (red) a 3.3V LED (green) and a 5V LED (red). I tried connecting to it via Pronterface (115200 and 57600) and I get "Connecting" and it never gets past that. I tried the Arduino IDE Serial monitor and that's dead also no matter what data rate I try (yes it's set to Due on /dev/ttyACM0). I'm usingby WZ9V - Controllers
My OpenSCAD 2015.03 on Linux Mint 17.2 does that also. As long as it looks right in a full render F6 it seems to slice and print OK.by WZ9V - 3D Design tools

I'll check that I didn't realize it had to be turned on since it was on by default in Windows. Quoteenif It works on my Ubuntu 12.04. Did you activate it in the Edit/Preferences/Editor menu?by WZ9V - OpenSCAD
Try looking at the PET+ braided covering people use for cleaning up cables on their PCs. You slip that on with a piece of heat shrink at both ends. Looks nice and cleans things up.by WZ9V - CoreXY Machines
If your not set on the Raspberry Pi I would suggest looking at the BeagleBone Black, it has the PRUs that can do realtime work and a community of support in the MachneKit project (forked from Linux CNC) and Replcape with Redeem. What your attempting has already been done on the BBB. On the other hand I'm all for experimenting but like DC42 said above you probably should look at one of the solutby WZ9V - General

Quotetanner331 Hi I am looking to connect my printer to octoprint using a raspberry pi and I had a couple of questions? First one is will octoprint work with a smoothieboard, that is what I am using to run my printer? My next question is which raspberry pi should I use, pi model B, B+, A+, or pi 2 B? I'd get the Pi 2 B (and did). The Octopi image works fine on it. My printer is a Rostock deltby WZ9V - Controllers
Glad I could help. You can always use that "spare" power supply for the next printer.by WZ9V - General
Bigger wires are not going to help this situation, the resistance is limiting your current at 12V to 3.75A or 45W. The pictures I've seen for a Mk3 show multiple inputs with a grid printed on top for 12/24V, are you sure you are using the 12V input and not the 24V one? The 12V input should have half the resistance of the 24V one which would double the current/wattage at 12V to about 90W assumiby WZ9V - General
What window cleaner are you using? I have alcohol and acetone but it seems that's not the best stuff to use.by WZ9V - General
Thanks for the info guys. I've decide to hold out for a Replicape and go in that direction. Until then I'll keep banging away on my Smoothie.by WZ9V - Controllers

Sounds good, do you have a US distributor? QuoteMutley3D QuoteIMarsbar Just like to add, tried with Nylon last night, printed worm gear so thin and tall, head 265, bed 115. Printed spot on. Every question you have asked here and on the delta forum is documented in the Smoothie Wiki. The URL got clipped but on the main page towards the bottom is a link for getting Smoothie, on that same main page is a link for setting up Z-probes, on that same main page is a link on setting up a delta printer, etc, so on. Perhaps if you would read the provided documentation as opposed to insultingby WZ9V - Firmware - mainstream and related support
626Pilot, I'm considering a similar migration. How has the Duet and DC42 firmware branch been working for you?by WZ9V - Controllers
Don't try the as yet not mainstream for a delta z-grid until you get the normal delta calibration working. As was mentioned in another thread are younsure you have the Z-probe setup? Those lines have to be modified/added to the config, it is not turned on in the samples. Read the Z-probe page on the Smoothie wiki. Basically 1) make sure you have a recent Smoothie edge (October 2015) 2) updateby WZ9V - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Perfect. I have one of his IR sensors that I have tried with my current solution that I'm not real happy with. Sounds like it might be worth springing for a duet to experiment with.
