VanGuard just has announced there new HotEnd, I guess i can't say a whole lot as he gave alot of information about it on his website, Its innovative alright..by luigi - General
Quotewaitaki To measure the voltage of the Pololu drivers on the Ramps board, put one meter lead on the adjustment pot itself and the other lead to ground on the power supply connector plug. Adjust the voltage to around 0.4v initially and see what you get. If your drivers are Stepsticks, you may need to go to 0.8v. I did them to 3.9. Most of them were around .39 and .405-.409 One of them skippby luigi - Reprappers
Edit, I think ive found it, Its the second last pin at the left (if your chip is facing down) But what current should i have with a nema 17?by luigi - Reprappers
Hello, Wanted to ask if anyone knew how i could measure my V of my stepper driver? I have a Makerfarm, So it has a Ramps 1.4 as motherboard, It makes some noise, kinda alot, So i thought to adjust this to get less heat and less noise. I hope someone knows this since i cant find info anywhere.. Thanks for the help!by luigi - Reprappers
Gonna get a SG2 from Vanguard Innovations pretty soon ^^ After long waiting finaly a great HotEnd, instead of my Jhead MK4, Hopefuly some less oozing ^^by luigi - Reprappers
Meh, Just be safe and get a 12v powersupply, they are only 30 bucks anyhow.by luigi - General Mendel Topics
Well i wouldnt go with a bwoden feeding, Just due a Makerfarm printer isnt made for it and i would need to make a bowden system myself.by luigi - Reprappers
Wanted to ask if anyone knew the length of the Prusa nozzle mk2? Since the E3D is pretty large wich reduces the build volume quiet a bad to be frankly honest.by luigi - Reprappers
Thats why we tell that Makerfarm would be a great option, Its a Kit, www.makerfarm.comby luigi - Reprappers
I am totaly happy with my Makerfarm Prusa i3 and would recommend it ^^ Tolerance is at the Z around 0.1 depends how you calibirated it, X and Y are most of the time dead on, also with the Makerfarm it seems more rigid as x/y on Z and not being able to bend that easly.by luigi - Reprappers
woo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > fast enough? > When looking at it, it does seem that its bigger(longer) then the stock makerfarm hot end (Jhead mk4) Isnt it? Hoping its not like 3 cm bigger tho Btw was asking about speed just due my Jhead is like around 35mm/s so ye Also does the wooden mounting plate from Makerfarm work with this hot end?by luigi - Reprappers
Well i doubt kinda a fan of 40mm will affect your Bed heater that much, Maybe a decent room temprature and it would still work, Here its aprox 15c and it still goes to 110, Its hard, But after a few min it does get up there. (Also got a Makerfarm btw) Well magma doesnt work with PLA, Well ive heard it does, with some hacking and tweaking. Oh well i am happy its working for you that well ^^by luigi - General Mendel Topics
kinda thinking about buying the E3D now, But wanted to ask if you can get faster speeds with ABS and PLA with full metal? Also is this shorter then a Jhead MK4 or? And can i use my Jhead MK4 holding/mounting plate for this also or? Thanks for the help guys ^^by luigi - Reprappers
Just printed today for the first time with ABS, Gotta say with a Jhead you have to go quiet slow, else it gets Cogged, I tryed today with 45mm/s and it cogged right away lol! 35mm/s and it went very nicely tho. Kinda can see now why people would go all metal if it would make it go faster Gotta say, ABS realy smells ;Pby luigi - Reprappers
So far i guess it will be a E3D if i gonna buy a new hotend, Even tho i aint sure since ive never done Nylon and such so ye Btw isnt there like another brand named Acrol or something Acrul/acrolby luigi - Reprappers
It is ofc cheaper but also alot more hard and (anoying if you have problems/gotta buy other parts due they dont fit and such) I've got the makerfarm 8inch and realy got no problems, works very good, Except i would go for the Jhead instead of Magma.by luigi - Reprappers
Well i might try it for fun if i am done in school with the current projects, Oh well, I am thinking so for for the Prusa or E3D HotEnds, What would be the best for also PLA? Since i would like to keep the ability to use PLA, but most people seem to have problems with that if they use full metal hotends? Kinda thinking about the E3D more atm, Since its cheaper and seems to perform better whenby luigi - Reprappers
kinda starting to think i might ask my school if i couldnt make a nozzle myself on a Lathe and CNC Just due well, It isnt that hard to make a all metal hotend, isnt itby luigi - Reprappers
Hey guys, I have been on a little hunt now for a while to perhaps get another nozzle apart from my Jhead MK4. I was hoping for a nozzle that actualy does PLA ABS and perhaps some more plastics like Nylon and poly carbonate and such. Just so i would have a bigger choice as plastics goes, Also i wanted to ask you guys if a Hotend actualy matters that much as your end products quality goes? Can itby luigi - Reprappers
Just start a PSU, power it on, And get a USB and a PC connected, Update the Firmware as you can see in a Video from Colin, After that you can simple use a test cube I would prefer Cura from Ultimaker if i were you, its alot easyer to use ^^ You can just print with Cura directly, or just export a gcode on a SD and do it in your printer and print it from there ^^ For longer prints it mightby luigi - General Mendel Topics

They both can, I use Ramps and i am very happy with it, I have heard good things about Megatronics as well, but i would stay with ramps ^^ just due i know it at the moment, and megatronics doesnt have anything i would want at the moment.by luigi - Reprappers
Change the accerlation helped for me, Also dont set the print speeds to fast, Average 50-60 mm/s is enough. Also i have a 120mm fan blowing on it always, i did print a cover for it so if it ever falls from my desk, it wont hurt the cables that are at the side from it I also have heatsinks, but i aint sure if those were enoughby luigi - General Mendel Topics
Hey, I also got a makerfarm for a small month now, It was easy to assemble as also easy to learn and as its easy on forgiving mistakes aswell, not that i made many but ye. Also Colin the owner is very friendly and when talking about warranty his very fast and takes only a day or so, Print quality well its my first printer and i like it, but ye idk since i cant realy compare it. I have it mostby luigi - General Mendel Topics

I know that the heated part isby luigi - Reprappers
Okay, Just wanted to know ^^ Well i am keeping my Jhead for now for PLA and perhaps for ABS for around 230c MAX (Hoping that would give some good adhesion) I might get a Prusa nozzle some later when Prusa made some upgrades to it since its still pretty experimental. Thanks for the help btw ^^ I was just curious also what i could print with my Jhead atm after pla and ABS, Since i was looking foby luigi - Reprappers
