Can I swap in the Titan where I have the standard Bowden extruder at the moment?by tmccar - Reprappers
Yes, I believe it's inductive, so that figures. Is there a sensor that works with glass?by tmccar - Printing
I am using one of the green position sensors for auto bed leveling. It had been working ok with the stock bed on my Tarantula, but it is not detecting the sheet of 6mm thick glass that I have added. How can I get around this? Will it be practical to use this sensor with glass?by tmccar - Printing
Looking for advice on what may be causing this ..I have done the usual bed levelling procedures. Does this suggest that the nozzle is still too high off the bed?by tmccar - Printing
Ok, I will try out the Titan when I get a chance, thanksby tmccar - Reprappers
Thank you for that detailed explanation! I am finding that this last section of filament expands and gets stuck in the tube. But maybe that's because it's blocked up ahead at the nozzle?by tmccar - Reprappers
The hot-end fan was not running. Please explain "heat break"by tmccar - Reprappers
I tried printing at 210 degrees but it's still getting blocked.by tmccar - Reprappers
I have a Tevo Tarantula with a Bowden extruder and am finding that the filament is getting blocked frequently. I thought it might be a problem with the nozzle, but I fitted a new one and the same thing is happening. I have set the extruder temp to 240 degrees.by tmccar - Reprappers
QuoteVDX ... you can change the extruder for a dispenser and print with silicone ... *** EDIT *** - here a sample, printed with air-dryed silicone: ou used? That's interesting VDX - could you share what extruder (and filament) yby tmccar - Printing
I have a part that is a mask that goes over the nose. I would like to print it in a material that is as close to the manufactured material - a silicone, rubbery material. Is this achievable with a reprap-style printer, and what is the best material?by tmccar - Printing
I was setting up auto bed leveling on my Tevo Tarantula, following Arcaded's guide: When I try to compile the firmware I am getting this rerror message: #error "A probe needs a pin! Use Z_MIN_PROBE_USES_Z_MIN_ENDSTOP_PIN or Z_MIN_PROBE_PIN."by tmccar - Firmware - Marlin
I think I had the wrong firmware loaded.I uploaded Jim Brown's Easyconfig 1.1 and the printer responds correctly to the G28.by tmccar - Printing
After uploading firmware, I find that the Z axis is set way too high. (About 80mm above the bed). A G28 will not change the Z level. The printer had been working ok before the upload. Also, each new G28 I issue causes the Z to go still higherby tmccar - Printing
I think the problem was that I had loaded new firmware, and "auto bed leveling" had not been enabled in this version.by tmccar - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks, that was a useful discussion. I might try a regular endstop for the time being. But I have another problem. If I try to move my Z down in Repetier host, it stops about 30mm from the bed and will not go lower. If I try to home Z, it will then go down - but too far. Why would it not allow me to move down further in Z?by tmccar - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteRossos Does your TEVO Tarantula has both Z-axis mechanical endstop and auto-bed-leveling Z-Probe? No, just the probe. The probe is connected to the board in the place where the endstop is normally connected.by tmccar - Prusa i3 and variants
Quoteo_lampe Did you test the probe manually? Send M119 to get the status of the endstops. It should read open when in free air and triggered when close to the bed ( or any other object ) If it works, you should mount the probe further down. There are long holes to adjust probe height. There also is a difference in firmware between Z-endstop and Z-probe. It says "open" for all 3by tmccar - Prusa i3 and variants
I recently assembled a TEVO Tarantula and I'm in the process of setting up the auto bed levelling. I issued a G28 and the X and Y home ok. The extruder then was heading down without any sign of stopping when I turned it off at the socket, just before it hit the bed. What should I check in my settings? And how should I set a safe level for Z. I have the bed levelling probe fitted.by tmccar - Prusa i3 and variants
I've just built a Tevo printer. It has an auto-levelling probe and I set up the firmware with "FIX_MOUNTED_PROBE" as the probe type. When I clicked on "Z home" on Repetier Host. it went up in Z and would probably have gone through the topof the printer if something had not been in the way. So then I looked at my configuration and changed "#define Z_HOME_DIR -1" to plus 1. But when I upload, I gby tmccar - General
What might be causing these bulges on the side of my part (endstop holder), as shown in the picture?by tmccar - Prusa i3 and variants
When I first connected my Prusa 3 build to power, the x axis would move a short distance and the y axis would move over and back only about 10mm. But now there is no movement at all when I power it up. What could the problem be? Or is it supposed to move axially when powered up?by tmccar - Reprappers
