Though I'd share the solution to save others time. Basically, the issue was a bad connection on the black or white wires connected to the z-stop socket on the motherboard. This time around I have plugged the original z end-stop cable back in the board and connected the black and white wires to where the z end stop used to be connected. I this allows me to revert back to a microswitch if the 3by jparaskeva - Printing
I reproduced the error whie connected to Repetier. Happens on Z homing. See attachment. Any clues as to where I can find the actual error? regards Johnby jparaskeva - Printing
Greetings, My CR10 has been working nicely for years, but has suddenly developed a problem casing prints to stop. I traced this down to the auto homing. The X and Y axes home correctly, but the Z axis will not move down. The 3D Touch pin will deploy (extend) during homing but then seems to automatically retract. casing the print to stop. The LCD screen shows "Endstops Z" message. When I test uby jparaskeva - Printing
Thanks for your great suggestions. I was wondering if it was a fake, but the packaging and attention to detail seem good. On the basis that there could be some randomness in the manufacturing, I will see if I can get it swapped out, before I spend more on chemicals that the bed cost.by jparaskeva - Printing
I just purchased a new bed plate for my CR-10s. The bed is dark grey and has a textured glass finish. It seems to stick very well, but does not release the part easily when cold. Even if I print at 50'C. I am using SUNLU pla with a bed temperature of 60 'C I have access to an Ender V2. This has a similar textured glass plate, but this releases very well once cooled down. Thanks for the responses. I was thinking on similar lines about adding insulation and boosting the temperature. I have attached a photo of a different 2 in 1 design. Would this one fare any better? The filament doesn't need to negotiate a 90 degree bend. cheers Johnby jparaskeva - General
Curiosity got the better of me so I took a punt on a dual colour hot end . The ebay description was "Prettyia 2in 1Out Single Head Double Color Remote Extruder Hot End Extrusion". I have attached some photos. I have spent some time on this and cannot get it to work. Basically, it always jams up. I have tried clearing it out several times. There are grub screws that can be removed. I have evenby jparaskeva - General
QuoteAnd please post the details of the seller so others will know who to look out for! To be fair to the eBay seller, they sent out another parcel quickly with no quibble and didn't ask for the other one back. A good outcome as I now have a few spares. regards Johnby jparaskeva - Reprappers
Thanks for the quick response guys. Activating REPRAP_DISCOUNT_SMART_CONTROLLER in Configuration.h has enabled the screen. Although it works, the screen has some hot pixels and the SD card reader is a bit battered. The vendor was chwai33 . I must have been on the festive booze as 95.8% feedback is not that good. It did arrive very quickly though. Hopefully the refund will be smooth. regardsby jparaskeva - Reprappers
I have just purchased a Ramps1.4 kit including LCD, 5x stepper drivers, Arduino Mega and LCD. To my horror, the eBay vendor posted it all loose in just a plastic bag. No jiffy bag, let alone a box! The Arduino Mega was damaged, but I borrowed another to do some tests. The LCD could also be damaged, but I am not sure. After loading Marlin 1.9 on the Arduino Mega, I expected to see the menu onby jparaskeva - Reprappers
Thanks for the prompt response Ohmarinus I had already tried 50% speed without success, but your reasoning was spot on so I reduced the speed to 6 (default was 45!) and it now works fine. I wanted to attach some photos of a calibration cube and a short video but .I just get "413 Request Entity Too Large" errors. The total size is < 4MB. Infact, I couldn't attach 500kb of photos either. reby jparaskeva - Firmware - Marlin
Hello, I've built a DIY 3D printer from my old CR-10 Melzi board, old some wood and spares from eBay. It's quite 'bodgy' as it is just used for experimentation, so I can keep my main printer (cr-10s) intact. The X and Y axes are quite conventional. Both are belt driven and similar in concept to the A8, CR10 etc. It works OK with a laser engraver module as no Z axis movement is required. My pby jparaskeva - Firmware - Marlin
