Quotejblonigan I recently was put in charge of getting our old rep-rep mendel pro up and running and what we want to do is have a larger .5mm extruder setup to print larger pieces and then have a smaller .2mm nozzle be able to print our tiny pieces (biological implants). I have gotten everything working, all the temps are reading correctly and I can heat up the individual extruders using the apprby PDBeal - General
I had something similar to this which was a case of start/stop points from a slic3r file with the Marlin 1.0 firmware. Based on my experience, I'd suggest slicing something in Cura 2.3.1 and see if its the same. In my position, I don't really have a solution for you because after I saw these on a print, it was right before I rebuilt the machine with the Duet 0.8.5 and switch to slicing everythiby PDBeal - Printing
So on one of my CoreXY machines, I've been playing with the Duet 0.8.5 RepRapFirmware-1.17-RC3 firmware and the new G29. I've also been comparing it to the old G32 and I've noticed something that I wasn't sure was intended or could be a bug. Before the new G29 command, I used the M557 to specify 4 points M557 P0 X43 Y10 ; Four... M557 P1 X43 Y180 ; ...probe points... M557 P2 X180 Y180 ;by PDBeal - Duet
As far as I have seen, PETG likes to go slow. The slower you print, the stronger the parts. I've had to slow all my infill down to 30mm/s to match the perimeters, otherwise it looks very spotty and fragile. I've seen this with eSun PETG as well as Hatchbox PETG. I've also had to increase the number of perimeters for certain parts. Smaller parts print fine, but larger parts with a lot of infiby PDBeal - Printing
Quotedc42 I asked the admins to make it sticky immediately after I posted it. Sort of surprised your not a moderator for the Duet section to control things like that yourself, especially since your the primary source for firmware and issues and such.by PDBeal - Duet
I thought that would be the case, just wasn't sure how that would affect DWC or the PanelDue buttons.by PDBeal - Duet
Might be useful to get someone to sticky this topic so it stays at the top of the list.by PDBeal - Duet
So with the new G29 command, I've noticed a G32 wipes out the bed compensation from a G29. Based on the G-code list on the RepRapWiki, it says for a G32 it will execute the macro bed.g instead of using the M557 points. I've been using a bed.g file for quite a while now, but is it possible to change the contents of the bed.g file to just be G29 S1? Then I'll manually run a G29 when I either chaby PDBeal - Duet
I can confirm using RepRapFirmware 1.17-RC3 and DWC 1.14-b4, Safari on macOS Sierra is able to connect again.by PDBeal - Duet
I'm using a blower on the backside of the Smartrapcore head block that is ducted underneath the head near the X axis limit switch. It took me a few attempts to get it working right with my design, but its working very well now. I've been able to bridge 50mm without any droop what so ever.by PDBeal - Smart_Rap
Have you tried the blue or green painter's tape? The yellow stuff appears to be what they call industrial strength painter's tape intended to be used on floors while painting. This industrial strength stuff may have something in it causing the PLA to bond to it rather than just stick.by PDBeal - Printing
And I'd also make sure with a multimeter to verify you read the ohms through the stepper motor wiring at the other end of the wire. I had a problem with 1 stepper motor that had a bad connection on one wire that cause it to "stutter" back and forth. In my case, I found the pin wasn't making good contact with the motor itself, re-crimped that pin and its been fine since.by PDBeal - General
Try printing on Kapton tape or a sheet of PEI, I think that would solve your issue with warping while it prints. However, I've still heard of people experiencing warping while waiting for the heatbed to cool down with ABS.by PDBeal - Printing
Cura 2.3.1 seems to do most things better, but I do run into the occasional STL file that Cura can't handle properly for one reason or another that slic3r handles quite well. On the slic3r note, I've been having better luck with the Prusa version from www.prusa3d.com and just telling the installation to only install slic3r. I can't remember if I've seen this version crash yet.by PDBeal - Printing
Will this firmware also fix the connection issues with Safari receiving the file not found errors from forums.reprap.org or is that something that has to change in the DWC? I know you said this was already done with the Duet Wifi, but I didn't recall seeing a wifi only version of DWC.by PDBeal - Duet
Does this include a fix/work-a-round for the drag and dropping of files In the DWC G-Code Files area, or is that being addressed in DWC 1.14+? Does it address the PanelDue update issues when its starting a print and you change screen pages and nothing updates until after the temperatures are done heating? I looked through the notes on GitHub, but didn't see these two items.by PDBeal - Duet

It must be on when printing or above certain temperatures, but my Duet 0.8.5 boards uses a thermostatically controlled fan for the hotend that only turns it on above 45C.by PDBeal - Printing
I saw a similar problem with my E3D titan and the 1.75 Ninnjaflex. From what I could tell by closely watching it, your pushing the flexible filament against a flat bearing, and flexible filaments tend to stick to the flat bearing. After realizing this, I went through the time and money and ordered the Flexion extruder for E3D hotends. It has a grooved idler bearing. This means both sides of tby PDBeal - Printing
When you clean out the filament after a jam like this, is the filament flat with teeth or is it still round with the tiny teeth indentations? If its flat, it could be binding in the PTFE tube being too wide to slide through.by PDBeal - General
Out of curiosity, does this happen after a series of retraction moves? I've run into this where too many retractions on 1 area of the filament will cause it not to feed anymore because its cut so many teeth marks into one area that it can't grab anything to feed. In my case, the tension on the filament was way too high and the retraction distance was too long. Reducing the tension to the pointby PDBeal - General

It looks like the plastic was either way too hot, or the axis that went along that edge wasn't moving smoothly and jerked the hotend.by PDBeal - General
That's sorta funny you'd say that. I could have sworn I got the ABS smell as I was purging the ABS through the hotend and my bed wasn't even on yet at that point. This was using Hatchbox ABS Black from Amazon. I'll give that a try though and just run my bed up to 110C and see if the PEI sheet smells or not, although I did glue mine down with the 3M adhesive sheets after painting one side of thby PDBeal - Reprappers
If you have calibrated your extruder where it takes 100mm of filament when told to extrude 100mm of filament, then the next step would be to try slow your print speeds down. Based on your dust comments, and what I've experienced, sometimes I can extruder 100mm at a stand still, but during a print it will not feed the plastic properly due to too much tension and not enough tension (I know it sounby PDBeal - Printing

Designed, installed and tested a new bracket for the Flexion E3D retrofit kit for the Smartrapcore series of printers. Mounts to the standard bolt pattern on the face of the head block and holds up the Flexion mounting block which holds the motor and the E3D hotend. Sounds like your 5V source isn't powerful enough, and turning the knob draws the power below working voltage causing it to turn off and then as caps build back up it turns on again.by PDBeal - General
I'm going to take a stab in the dark here, you talked about the ramps board. This kit on Amazon is what I bought along with this crimp tool to put the 4 pin connectors on the stepper motor cables and my IR sensor cables and hot end fan when I first started with my ramps board. If your not interested in a kit, I've found individual parts on Digikey listed as M20 Series along with the pins.by PDBeal - Reprappers
What is your bed surface? I've run into issue with mine when it was a piece of glass ontop of the mk2a heatbed. I found putting a black piece of paper between the glass and pcb solved my issue. On my other machines I have painted one side of the PEI sheet flat black prior to gluing it to the glass. I think next time I take the glass plate off, I'm just going to paint one side flat black. So, I've just finished building my latest CoreXY with yet another Duet 0.8.5, IR sensor and PanelDue with the Flexion Extruder. I'm interested in trying to make this do a manual color change.
