Looks like that's what I'll have to do. On a happy note, your motor mount was taken into school by my son yesterday took about 2 hours before I got a phone call from the (insert whatever poncey name they have for woodwork/metalwork these days) department, pretty much foaming at the mouth to find out how to buy one. When told they are 'built' I think he thought I was pulling his leg!by AndrewD - General Mendel Topics
Your link look broken? On their front page they have.... Looks like they hit the same issue!by AndrewD - General Mendel Topics
Cheers, have just ordered 'something' that might work but I did not see the correct item. How hard can it be when you buy the RAMPS and SDramps to produce some with the diode and header installed or include them, must cost pennies if you have an order for 100, I'd have paid £5 more to have a 29p (Maplins single price) and a say 50p header.by AndrewD - RAMPS Electronics
Hmm.... looking at the pics of the TV group Prusa with bearings the extruder is fitted backwards to the visual instructions and probably has more clearance! All part of catching up I guess, at least I'm not backwards on the carrige or I'd have to strip the whole lot to change the bearings over (whew! )by AndrewD - General Mendel Topics
As per the topic, I'm getting my Prusa built and changing from V1to V2, I'v just got the new plastic parts to take the bearings and it's all together and square (I hope!), however I still have the original wades extruder. The problem is that the T2.5 (or any belt) rubs the back of the stepper for the extruder, this gets worse near the motor. Looks like the stepper needs a few packing washers unby AndrewD - General Mendel Topics
I've just bought RAMPS 1.4 and SDramps, there is no socket to attach it to solered in, does anyone know where I can get (UK) 1 other than a pack from farnell or RS (Maplins don't do them). Anyone in the same boat with a spare I can buy?by AndrewD - RAMPS Electronics
No problem with printed parts, as either you have read about it on thingyverse etc or it's part of a know configuration. I had a set of your parts and did not expect a set of instructions (thanks for the new gear BTW, just opened the envelope and fitted it, all sorted). The SDramps is a pretty good example of being left pretty high and dry and to a lesser extent the hot end, I've done a search aby AndrewD - United Kingdom RepRap User Group
Went to the TVRRUG last night in Reading, I've got a CNC mill to get going (fighting with Mach3) and having talked to Hannah etc it's tipped me over the brink of buying a small lathe. I'm hoping that for 'Phase 2' (and in general) we could produce our own hot ends. With printing parts, designing electronics & specifiying power supplies having a hot end 'in house' would make us free from the sby AndrewD - United Kingdom RepRap User Group
Okay guys... Started the REPRAP experience last year while sitting bored on the beach in France and with WiFi was soon buying away on eBay etc. Life then got in the way as it does, but the plan was to do this with my son, both of us learning and him being almost 13 a good age to try to steer him away from a career in IT Coming back a week ago the goal posts have shifted, I'd already ordered soby AndrewD - United Kingdom RepRap User Group
I'm going to try and make the COPA bar tonight, good opportunity to meet people. I've ordered RAMPS as there is no availability on the TVRR version and when I asked it triggered a debate on copyright/left/CERN/Open source!by AndrewD - United Kingdom RepRap User Group
Sorry guys bit rude not to have posted back sooner, life got a bit hectic so only tonight have I had a chance to start building and it's all changed! Any UK meets in the future?by AndrewD - United Kingdom RepRap User Group
Very interested!by AndrewD - United Kingdom RepRap User Group
For a N00B like me that is awesome! 8) I'm always concerned that I'm not building or researching to 'old' spec. Well done, buy you a pintby AndrewD - General
I'm going to get an ally bed cut and drill it to fit 10 ally bodied power resistors, should run at 12amps so possible to power from the electronics but I think I'll use a relay and separate power supply so no drop in voltage and missed steps.by AndrewD - Reprappers
Hmm, might be ordering one too! Glad you mentioned thatby AndrewD - Reprappers
There is lots you 'could' do yourself, I've got a workshop full of tools however I'd keep pretty simple as when it's not working you want as few 'rogue' parts to track down. I'm really struggling to cough up for a hot end but I think I will for simplicity sake.by AndrewD - Reprappers
Well I grabbed what was left on eBay so for less than £10 delivered I have 70! Plan is to make 7 heated beds and sell 6by AndrewD - Controllers
I'm looking at getting some optos but the only place I have found is Germany with a €20 shipping cost on top! Any better sources for optos either built, PCB or kit?by AndrewD - United Kingdom RepRap User Group

Yup that's what I thought, but there was no revision trail on the WiKi, stainless A2 rod and threaded ordered, I can go ahead and send the cutby AndrewD - General
Just read this, what a cracking idea! Funny how sometimes a simple solution gets ignored?!by AndrewD - Plastic Extruder Working Group
With a number of injection moulding companies near me it should keep me supplied in either new granules or scrap plastic for a whileby AndrewD - General

Looks like we will be running parallel! I'm just looking at getting a few ally bed blanks made up, I was also wondering about option for lower bed to keep weight down but I guess MDF is no so heavy.by AndrewD - Reprappers
Hmm, I made it 1 ohm but I'm not sure if the listing was clear, still I'll wait until they come and go from there, I have a tame engineering shop so I might knock up a few ally beds to recover some of my costs. There's not much on eBay over here?... Don't get me wrong I'll be using them if they were in sepia on a Kodak Brownie from 1950! Often don't need expensive macro lenses (I've got a £3 second hand lens as Minolta fit Sony) often max zoom will work (all mine does in lock at max 75mm zoom). I thought I'd mention it before you assemble and I doubt you'll want to take it apart! I'll try some shots if my 1.4 & steps when they arrive,by AndrewD - RAMPS Electronics
I can't believe no one has ripped your arm off at that price! I'll bet it goes for much more on eBay!by AndrewD - For Sale
Hmm, might have got the wrong bits here... I've just got 10x 10w 0.1 ohm aluminium resistors that looked great for a heated bed, however looking at ohms law they will draw about 145 amps at 12v when wired in series. Anyone tried these or are they junk (only £2 delivered, probably as there is no popular application).by AndrewD - Controllers
I'm just waiting for parts to get building so great! I'm no photographer but you might get better results with a smaller aperture as everything will be in focus, however with a longer exposure so you might need to rest the camera (or use a tripod). I love my digi SLR and it's worth playing off 'auto' and get into Macro etc. It will serve you well for asking for diagnosis later with small printby AndrewD - RAMPS Electronics
