I tried the ABS juice, yesterday: epic fail How do you put the juice on the glass? How much is needed?by fma - Slic3r
I only have a small current power supply, so I modified my heating bed to have a higher resistor. So I only get 65°C. I'm using kapton tape, and I clean it a little bit with acetone before each print, and I don't have any warping problems. As RustyPaint said, @100°C, it can be hard to remove the parts from the tape! But 65°C is fine. Carignan, are you using kapton, or do you print on the glass,by fma - Slic3r
2 guides to remove unwanted degrees of freedom (rotations of the frame).by fma - Delta Machines
I also use this feature all the time, especially when using very small layers (0.1mm): the first layer is set to 0.4mm. The latest release allows to enter an absolute value, instead of a ratio, which is very nice, and avoid me to change the value when changing the layer height.by fma - Slic3r
Thanks, guys! I will give it a try...by fma - Slic3r
Things are clear, now! This is just an undocumented feature Thanks for help, guys!by fma - Repetier
@jcabre, I already tried to switch the stepstick, with no success. And as I sid, I don't see the pulses... @nophead, I tried to wired the Z- endstop to GND, and it works! But... The endstops checking is disabled in the firmware (as I also suspected such problem), and this setting works, because no other endstop stops axis whatever level they are (I tried to wired to GND or VCC, and the axis stiby fma - Repetier
I finally received my stepsticks, and I have a problem: all axis work fine, except Z, which can't go down (up ok). When I hit the down button (whatever distance I want), no pulses are sent on the step pin (I checked with a led). Any idea what can cause this? I don't have any enstop connected, and they all use the same config values in the firmware. Thanks,by fma - Repetier
Great! Good job! Here is the 3D printer next generation!!! I'm one of these guys who started to build one I'm waiting for some parts, but I hope to have it running soon!by fma - Delta Machines
That's a great feature! A slider in repetierHost, like for speed, would be very usefull tooby fma - Repetier
AFAIK, Johann wrote the python code before he made a dedicated firmware; the goal was to use a standard firmware. But I think there is something wrong in the script, as I had to modify it so it writes E values, and even with that, it does not work... I had a look at his Marlin modification, where he implemented the delta firmware (which then use standard g-code), and some values are pre-computedby fma - Repetier
BTW, here is a python script Johann wrote at first to convert G-code for delta geometry, and use a standard firmware: Don't know yet if he used the same approach in the firmware patch...by fma - Repetier
Ok, let's start a new topic for the delta geometry. First, I'm looking at Johann's (Rostock delta robot 3D printer author) firmware modifications. I started a topic for that too: As soon as I have enough informations, I will continue here to see how implement this geometry in Repetier's firmware.by fma - Repetier
Johann, I have some questions about the firmware, so I started a new topic:by fma - Delta Machines
Hi, I started to build the very nice Rostock Delta robot 3D printer: and I'm now having a look at the firmware. Johann, could you explain a little bit what are the main modifications you made in the Marlin firmware? I would like to use the repetier firmware, as is has very nice features, and the author is ok to add such modifications in the original firmware if we can get something workingby fma - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Francesco, what is your hardware setup (CPU and graphic card)?by fma - Repetier

Thanks for your answer! Johann (who designed the Rostock delta bot¹) has already implemented something, starting from Marlin firmware: and it seems to work (fast enough). As soon as I have a fully functionnal delta printer, I will give it a try. But I have to admit that your firmware has some very nice features I would like to use. And as you started to implement different geometry, I was thby fma - Repetier
Hi repetier, I just read in your new firmware annoncement that you now support "non orthogonal drive system (xy H-gantry)". Could you explain what it is? Does it mean that you re-designed your code to be able to support different types of kinematics, like SCARA or DELTA? I'm currently building a Delta bot 3D printer (mainly based on Rostock design), and I would love to be able to use you firmwby fma - Repetier

It seems to be the same under linux... I will make new tests under Windows, because it didn't work neither, last night. But I was messed up with the EEPROM mode, and the baudrate was probably not the one Iby fma - Repetier
Thanks! It works, now... I didn't undestand that the BAUDRATE was also saved in the EEPROM. I made some tests with different firmwares/hosts/baudrates: the problem seems to come from non standard baudrate in repetier host. I guess there is a limitation with mono on linux... BTW, what is mode 2 for EEPROM ?by fma - Repetier
I already did (I also changed baudrate in the firmware). I'm puzzled. I also tried repetier under Windows: same problem... I will try another Arduino Mega board, just in case...by fma - Repetier

@Dad911: mmm, interresting! But they are not cheap ($70)... @ttsalo: any idea where I can find some ASA? And what about painting the ABS?by fma - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
I mainly use ABS for printing, so it should be OK, and even if I have to re-print some parts in 5 years, this is not a problem. I made a first prototype using MDF to maintain the cups, but I will use PMMA for final part. I will assemble the cups this week-end. Then, I have to design the body, and print it. Don't know what siez of bearing to use: I have very small ones (3 and 4mm for shaft); I tby fma - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
