Try this: G28 X Y (zeros X and Y axes) G29 (bed auto level) G1 X100 Y100 Z5 F3000 (puts the nozzle approximately in the center of the bed and 5mm from the surface) M114 (gets the current position - where the printer thinks the nozzle is located) Write down the value that it returns for Z Place a piece of printer paper (post-it-note, etc.) beneath the nozzle and lower it using the softwarby MindRealm - Reprappers

Start by manually (with your hand) moving the X and Y axes toward the center of the bed, then run the following commands: G28 X (should zero the X axis) M114 (returns the current coordinates >> Should show X=0.00) G28 X (should zero the Y axis) M114 (returns the current coordinates >> Should show Y=0.00) M119 (checks the status of all endstops >> Should show X and Yby MindRealm - Reprappers
Hi! The 6mm frame dxf is >>HERE<< (right-click the link and save as...) Using aluminum is probably the stiffest and most resistant to heat and warpage. I have one made of plexi and have been very happy with it, though I am only printing PLA so high temps are not a concern for me. I personally like the 'invisibility' of my printer.by MindRealm - General
This offset is adjustable in Marlin and in the slicing software. It looks like your photo shows a problem with upper layers, not just the first layer. A larger image would be awesome, and can be attached directly to your reply.by MindRealm - General
Sounds like the 5v bus is shorting, causing the Arduino to drop the connection (since it is powered by the 5v in the US. Suggest checking to be sure nothing is shorting the Z endstop switch (plugged in backwards on the RAMPS board is common)by MindRealm - General
I totally agree with the fan advice!by MindRealm - Printing
Just a shot in the dark, but why use analog commands on a digital pin?? Shouldn't you switch the pin with digitalWrite(57, HIGH); and digitalWrite(57, LOW); ?by MindRealm - General
Aaron, If the steppers are still operating, that rules out damage to the power supply or the poly fuses. I suspect you toasted a trace on the RAMPS board. OOOOOO <-- Switch Inputs OOOOOO <-- Ground OOOOOO <-- VCC If the VCC is damaged, the LED on the endstop will not light, but the switch should still trigger the input. If the Switch Input is damages, the LED on the endstop wilby MindRealm - RAMPS Electronics
Has anyone made anything out of PLA for use in a freshwater aquarium? I would like to make some things but don't want to kill the fish. They are goldfish and tetra.by MindRealm - General

Quoteggherbaz Yes, you need to comment either grid or 3 points, both cannot be activated at same time. Not true. The conditional statement takes care of choosing one or the other. Here is my working ABL code from Configuration.h: //============================= Bed Auto Leveling =========================== #define ENABLE_AUTO_BED_LEVELING //MindRealm: Commenting THIS line out turns off Autoby MindRealm - General
rdzmzda - Here's your revised ABL section to paste into your Configuration.h file. Please let me know how it works for you. //=========================================================================== //============================= Auto Bed Leveling =========================== //=========================================================================== #define ENABLE_AUTO_BED_LEVELING // Deby MindRealm - General
Quotedanielis No, the printer ist not printing in the center of bed after ABL. The printer starts with the print approximately 40mm to far on the left side. Have you successfully printed an object with this printer, prior to using ABL?by MindRealm - General
danielis: The homing and bed leveling geometry is the same for a Mendel90 as a Prusa i3. Does your printer print as expected (i.e. objects print in the center of the bed, etc.)?by MindRealm - General
Quoterdzmzda I use to have the extruder home to the front left of the board but the way I installed the servo it would never home as it was off the board. We can work out the probe positioning separately from the home positioning. Let's first make sure your printer is set up to agree with slicer/print settings (0,0 is the same in software as your physical settings), then we can fix the ABL woesby MindRealm - General
Please let me know where your printer considers the home position (0,0,0)... Is it at the front left corner, almost touching the glass? Are you using MIN or MAX ends stops for your axes? Is your whole bed (200x200) printable, or are there any obstructions (binder clips, etc.)? If so, where? Also, How high is your nozzle when the z-probe is extended? Thanks, Davidby MindRealm - General
From what I understand, the Arduino Mega 2560 max current on the 5v regulator is 500mA. The relay module shouldn't draw more than 40-50mA, plus a small amount for the LED on the module. The RAMPS 1.4 uses the Arduino 5v regulator to supply power to the end stops (6 pins), I2C (1 pin), AUX-1 (2 pins), AUX-2 (1 pin), AUX-3/SPI (1 pin), AUX-4 (1 pin) and a selectable output to the SERVOS sectionby MindRealm - RAMPS Electronics
I have been running a dual-relay module on my printer for months without problems... Thingiverseby MindRealm - RAMPS Electronics
Something is wrong with your bed heating... The line in your gcode M190 S110 ; wait for bed temperature to be reached is telling the printer to wait until the bed is 110C before proceeding, but your first post shows that it is heating very slowly. You'll need to work out what's going on with the bed.by MindRealm - Printing
It looks like your printer is not heating up. Please post the gcode file.by MindRealm - Printing
I have had great results with top layer smoothing by changing the top layer extrusion width to 75% in Slic3r. It completely closes the top layer with a fine pattern in just two layers.by MindRealm - Slic3r
These work great for me (I'm using an i3, but the bed plate should have the same 30mm hole spacing) and hold the bearings without the need for cable ties.by MindRealm - General Mendel Topics
You should compare the dimensions of the STL with the result. You may have a calibration problem. Or, it is possible that the bearing or the part is just a misfit... Most LM8UU bearings are 24mm long.by MindRealm - General Mendel Topics
Sorry - I didn't consider different firmware responses to M360... it only works in Repetier firmware.by MindRealm - RAMPS Electronics
Probably quicker to make an STL than find it... Give me some measurements and I'll make you oneby MindRealm - General
Not exactly, but close... You can retrieve all the settings that are defined for your printer, but not get the firmware itself. Just run M360 and it will dump your settings in the debug window.by MindRealm - RAMPS Electronics
