Hmmmm ... are you affiliated with them? Also, how open source are they? I have not noticed them documenting their hardware or software here at reprap. The reprap forum and documentation system are not exactly supposed to be a billboard for closed-source 3D printers which aren't documented here at reprap. Apparently: http://geda.seul.org/wiki/geda:download it doesn't run on windows without some tinkering. I'd suggest running ubuntu linux, via dual boot: ubuntu inside windows: or a live cd: If you have trouble with this, the folk in ubuntu's forum and mailing lists can help you out.by SebastienBailard - Next Wave Electronics Working Group

Kidding aside, the prusa mendel is a genius simple design and the creator is now a part of the core team, so his design is very much official. Nudel: You're 100% correct and 60% glossing over some subtleties. Firstly: I agree that Prusa Mendel is great ; I'm pretty sure we should tell people "Build prusa-mendels, not ed-mendels". In my build I'm just a bit stuck on the electronics. I can't seem to find documentation anywhere which matches the circuit boards that I received from Techzone. Hmmm ... "RepRap Monolithic Electronics" (from photo, and from their webstore) It looks like lambert of Techzone did up something new. That's kind of exciting. Drop him and Kymberly a line and suggest they do it up in the wiki, eh? Oby SebastienBailard - General Mendel Topics

Any comments before I move on to more detailed design? Only 2. Firstly: it sounds really cool. Secondly: you're a dev doing dev. Take it to reprap-dev? Maybe you can somehow fold it into the UBW32 Blue Banana Electronics? (For example. ) Or perhaps not. But I'd be honored if you joined us there.by SebastienBailard - Controllers

Teflon seems like a really commercially important thing to be able to print, so since I can't find anyone that is printing it I assume that means there are problems with extruding teflon (or PEEK or others). Any ideas what these problems might be? QuoteAccording to DuPont, its melting point is 327 °C (621 °F), but its properties degrade above 260 °C (500 °F) ... There's a Phoenix, AZ hackerspace: http://www.heatsynclabs.org/ Good people. Tell them I said 'hi'. And tell them RepRap's got an open dev mailing list, so they should hop in and lurk. I mean post; since they're developers. You too, termhn, since you're a dev. What kind of machine are you doing up? A T-Slot machine?by SebastienBailard - Reprappers

Martin, I was wondering two things: Would you like to document your RepRap development in here at RepRap? We actually have a documentation stub for some of your previous research: http://reprap.org/wiki/WormBot-Deutsch (via an image kicking around in the german language forum.) It's probably more efficient and more fun this way. And, secondly, I'd be honored if you join us in reprap-dev, reby SebastienBailard - Delta Machines

Done. Forum is now called the generation n+1 electronics forum. This way they'll stop calling everything geneation n. It also might eventually get the community out of the habit of numbering the "supposed" generations (since we seem to have skipped a couple). (I just wish they'd put a full reprap.org url on the boards. That hasn't happened since Generation 1. )by SebastienBailard - Administration, Announcements, Policy
