Thank you Dust Just because the keywords change does not mean that the operation of the compiled firmware changes. I know I have hear this before Though the question? Is there anyway to compile Marlin 1.1.9BF using Visual Studio Code. If so could you point me to the steps required for the process.by Roberts_Clif - Firmware - Marlin
I have noted this for a long time until changing my slicer to PrusaSlicer 2.3.0by Roberts_Clif - Printing
My Question is a simple one though not sure if what I believe is true. If I keep using the same settings for different versions of Marlin without new and added features the compiler will almost always compile the same. If I change features that Marlin has updated or if it includes bug fixes then the compiled firmware will be different. Is my thinking correct or incorrect for a simple Adruino Meby Roberts_Clif - Firmware - Marlin
Finally got Marlin 2.0.7 working though still having problem importing Marlin 2.0.8. Is there a simple tutorial to import or do I need a special Marlin 2.0.8 that is importable. Finally GOT IT!!!!by Roberts_Clif - Firmware - Marlin
I am again having problems with PlatformIO This time it is while using Windows 7 Pro I get to this point and it will not allow me to continue. I have Python 3.8.9 - April 2, 2021 (32bit) installed if it is the correct type from this linkby Roberts_Clif - Firmware - Marlin
Quotethe_digital_dentist You know, you could replace that fuse right above RT1 with a wire jumper and never have to worry about it burning out... I would never recommend it, but you could do it... The fact is that is exactly what I did, Though I too did not want recommend it. Have repaired electronics most of my life I knew the fuse would be enough for safety. Still kept my eye on it for the lby Roberts_Clif - Printing
This style power supplies has a thermal overload resistor RT1 in series with a fuse. I had one burn up, an after replacing the thermal overload resistor RT1 power supply came back to life. I selected a thermal overload resistor RT1 to allow for a little more current and heat before blowing. Four years later my power is still working supplying power for my 3D Printer. Should have mentioned that the Run-out switch is connected to end-stop Z-Max by duplicating pins from Z-max to filament run-out in marlin. Knowing this thought that ENDSTOP_NOISE_THRESHOLD may be my solution for false filament run-out.by Roberts_Clif - Printing
QuoteDust I would enable ENDSTOP_NOISE_THRESHOLD as I suspect your getting nose on the endstops wires I have a simple filament run-out switch, so if I have a false filament run-out sense happening ever so seldom then it could be because of noise. And it is then possible the ENDSTOP_NOISE_THRESHOLD could help eliminate the false filament run-out detection?by Roberts_Clif - Printing
If the Stepper motors are incorrectly wired then the answer is yes and this can happen very quickly. Post your wiring diagram.by Roberts_Clif - General
Quotethe_digital_dentist The heater block is aluminum. You could drill it out to 6mm in about 3 seconds with a hand drill. If it was my choice i would take the_digital_dentist advice.by Roberts_Clif - Reprappers
Keep forgetting I use PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 using this slicer I can save the Model in a 3mf format an all my setting will load to anyone who loads this file. With Cura in most cases have to do a print screen of every screen you want to show settings on and post the image. Or Using 7-Zip compress profile an attach.by Roberts_Clif - Firmware - Marlin
Could be a few configurations that could cause model to be printed off the left bottom of bed including slicers and firmware settings. Post your Marlin Configuration.h file an your slicer settings.by Roberts_Clif - Firmware - Marlin
Believe me I had to trim some of the functions to get it to fit //#define DISABLE_M503 // Saves ~2700 bytes of PROGMEM. Disable for release! There are more that we can live without. Changing from Arduino IDE to PlatformIO > Marlin Auto build will also save memory.by Roberts_Clif - Firmware - Marlin
When I was using Marlin 1.1.9 found that many errors caused minor problems this is why I changed to Marlin 1.1.9BF. This fixed the bugs in Marlin 1.1.9 allowing me to use this version for quite some time. Then finally I upgraded to Marlin 2 newer versions.by Roberts_Clif - Firmware - Marlin
I believe that you need to lower the Z-Height it appears the model separated from the bed because of inadequate bed adhesion.by Roberts_Clif - General

On my 3D Printer I have dual Z-Stepper motors an need almost double the V-Ref Current to properly get the Parallel steppers to work. My Setting as reference only. When you installed this new Version of Marlin 2.x.x did you restore defaults. Using Marlin 2.x.x Click the encoder > select Configuration > select Reset Defaults. Save Results.by Roberts_Clif - Firmware - Marlin
A suggestion for you! On my 3D Printers once in a blue moon they act similar to your 3D Printer. Too solve I have to do a factory reset, some how the settings get corrupted, an resetting correct this problem. Keep in mind I do not have a Geetech, though our 3D Printers are quite similar . Hope this helps.by Roberts_Clif - Printing

I figured that maybe one day someone will post a version for windows then I may try to figure a way to give me more Z height for printing curved surfaces..by Roberts_Clif - General
Yes!!!! As a You-Tuber found this site a long time ago, it is worthless unless you are a linux person and want to have a whole desktop reserved for a single 3D Printer. Depending on the curve ratio you will also need a lot of Z-clearance to be able to print. My 3D Printer Z clearance is about 2mm this will not help me.by Roberts_Clif - General
Had this problem a long time ago found that if add 2.5 to this line the problem went away. #define MAX_REDUNDANT_TEMP_SENSOR_DIFF 12.5 // originally 10 Do not know if this was a correct way of dealing with this problem thou it has work for me for over a year. Reason I changed this line for my 3D Printers are in a cold basement.by Roberts_Clif - Firmware - Marlin

I have never experienced this problem where the SD card was the problem. Have used the wrong lubrication that was very sticky and caused layer shifting.
