i would like to see some way of vetting there first few posts, though that might mean a lot of work for the modsby dissidence - General
i would vote for having to have the first 5-10 posts vetted by the mods or trusted people.by dissidence - General
i do agree, not this topic again. though i would like it to go away, it is a reality that people are going to make guns with there 3d printers, i just dont like the negitive attention that this gets from the press for this hobby that i love so much.by dissidence - General
i am still a big fan of makergears hot ends, though now i am using a qu-bd extruder and hot end, both have been good to me, but i think the makergear one is better for cleaning.by dissidence - General
i have more than a few fans to control so i ended up going to a pc fan controler, that allows me to use of to 4 fans.by dissidence - RAMPS Electronics
The hardware can do it. But most of your setting will be done in your slicing software.by dissidence - General
i wanted to do some stuff for my aquarium, and for making other extruders, i found that PLA was not able to take the heat well enough. i do like PLA more for general printing, but its a pain to alway switch between the 2. for almost 2 years i was using PLA though, i do like it a lot. once i get a duel head printer going i will use pla again i think.by dissidence - General
maybe there was more flex to the 1mm sheet so it could deform and seem to stick better.by dissidence - General
i would think they have lost more than a few orders because of those shipping rates.by dissidence - General
thats a good point i never caught that one.by dissidence - General
i would love to try that stuff it looks very interesting. but then i saw the shipping rates, i am in canada and i would get 20 back, and it is still painful. please companies look into more options for international shipping.by dissidence - General
i am happy to see another supplier in canada. but seeing how i switched to ABS are you going to offer that any time soon.?by dissidence - General
from what i have seen on here for the super glue the less the better.by dissidence - General
some guys here use loctite or superglue. all my polulu's came with thermal tape.by dissidence - General
PLA is a lot lower than ABS in temps the ballpark is normally 185-200 for PLA, the best way to clean if for a switch i am not sure off hand,by dissidence - General
it dose not take long if you have the current set too high.by dissidence - General

i have used this method to clean a makergear hotend http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bTfl35zlHEby dissidence - General
do you have D1 installed on your ramps http://reprap.org/wiki/RAMPS_1.4#D1.2C_D2_-_Diodes that would give you the issue your having. and if it is installed then yes do check for cold solder joints with a multimeterby dissidence - RAMPS Electronics
I get a warmup period when I use slic3r to make the gcode. What do your temps do.?by dissidence - RAMPS Electronics

http://blog.protoneer.co.nz/arduino-cnc-shield/ hey i found this today on hackaday.com i thought some people here might find it interesting. i think it could be useful for a few things. its just a 3 axis polulu driver board for a arduino uno sized boardby dissidence - Controllers
i think it pretty much boils down to cost, both type of motors have there benefits and drawbacks. i think you could find more on this discussion in the mechanics part of the forum.by dissidence - General
i find that pronterface will tend to be pessimistic on its printing times. volume and time are not linear, i think it is something like every time volume doubles time quadruples, or something like that.by dissidence - Slic3r
lol thats some conversation you have going there.by dissidence - Slic3r
Gibbedy ya know i never thought about that one. good point.by dissidence - General
did you look in the arduino forums for this one, that might be a better start.by dissidence - General
