Not very easy to see but I assure you that it's square, I've tried to show the daylight. Printed at 120mm/s 5% infile .2 heightby hexitex - Mendel90
The bow effect is constant throughout the height so no. The standard x assembly does shift around, you can literally push from side to side, the smooth rods are not man enough to resist inertia or the lead screws. With the tensioners I am seeing perfect layers short. I can defo do a tall print to prove perfectly square.by hexitex - Mendel90
Thanks Nophead, there is faster and better quality to come. Abs would be better quality. What did you think about the z tensions? It creates a tiny (0.4mm) bow effect on the z bars which keeps everything firm, I get no wobble at all. My Klipper config attached.by hexitex - Mendel90
I've done it. A sub 10 minutes, some additional details as well. Sub 10 minute Accelerated 30000, 230mm sec, corners 30mm What a great machineby hexitex - Mendel90
I am amazed at what I can get out the M90 design - if I go to a 32 bit board I am sure I could get sub 10 mins at quality Mendel90 Sub 25 minute Benchy I am doing a write up on all the mods and will provide links etc to files, will add another post shortly. The quality I get from this modded old boy is insane . all Z-wobble gone 0.6 nozzle - this could almost be resinby hexitex - Mendel90
sounds like your firmware settings are wrong or your z-speed is too high, more than likely the later if this is a nophead kit, try again with limiting z-speed to 1.5 in your slicerby hexitex - Mendel90
I am sure you have to press the reset button on Ramps for the new code to take effect?by hexitex - General
Just a warning I have just had problem where the zbar clamp was pushed up by the extruder motor almost to breaking point. The problem would not normally be seen unless your x carriage is all the way to the far left when you home Z. This has now caused a z-layer issue that I have to correct. I think a hard stop on the x-carriage bars would stop this problem or maybe a slight modification to theby hexitex - Mendel90
It looks like you are not getting good enough adhesion on the bottom layer, the problem just gets worse on the object if there is no change in shape as you hieght progresses. Have you tried blooming the bottom layer, slic3r, cura and skienforge all support this feature. In Skienforge just use a few loops on the bottom layer at zero distance. It does loook like you are pushing a little too much plby hexitex - Mendel90
What Dirty Steve said, Unless your extrusion rate is slightly under or perfect 100% infill on PLA will create a build up of plastic that gets pushed along with the nozzle making it's way to the perimeter. It also depends on the PLA, I have some that has to be set to 3.1mm when it is actually only 3mm as it is very dense (bendy pla).by hexitex - General
'Layer Height' would be 53.33mm 800/15 and filament diameter would have to be at least the same, which is almost impossible in the real world of plastic 3d printing, but try it for a screen grab if that's all your after.by hexitex - General
I am playing with all of them at the moment, things I have found: Slic3r, Cura and Skienforge all break (out of memory) with large complicated models, kissslicer seems to have the largest balls for big complex models and is also the fastest by a factor of 1000s. Kissslicer wants you to measure filament extruded per rev of the motor, I already have a perfectly calibrated e-step in my firmware -by hexitex - General
Mine had a 4 stamped on the heater block, I assumed this means 0.4?by hexitex - Mendel90
Great news, share where you got the board from, I like to know who to avoidby hexitex - General
Have you tried Marlin Firmware? marlinby hexitex - General
Forget the following, it was dealt with in the code just above Are you really using RAMPS 1.1 or 1.2? your config file points to 1.3 so i would uncomment 1.3 line the pins are very different between versions // uncomment one of the following lines for RAMPS v1.3 or v1.0, comment both for v1.2 or 1.1 // #define RAMPS_V_1_3 // #define RAMPS_V_1_0by hexitex - General
Thanks Karabas, I didn't see the rings as i was looking at the z-layers (thinking rings there). I contacted nophead and he suggested reducing acceleration to 2000 on the x and y, so will try that on a tiny version. cheersby hexitex - Mendel90
The mendel 90 kit from nophead can produce excellent prints out of the box, mendel90 print 3rd print from machine without calibrationby hexitex - Reprappers
Your config file looks ok, so i would suggest that you maybe correct in the fact that your ramps board has a problem, a visual inspection may highlight any traces of solder that should not be touching. remove ramps and check all the female connections make a connection to the top solder joints also post your pins.h file Try it with just the 5amp power connected (you only need this for drivingby hexitex - General
Works on Chrome Windows really well, nice job! Works on Waterfox Windows (which does support WebGL according to the google), shading has gone and a bit choppy. Top of screen says doesn't support WebGL, are you checking browser or functionality of browser?by hexitex - General
Are you sure there is no sign up required? I see no model or parameters just a notice to sign in to change - running Chrome on Macby hexitex - General
What endstops? Try disconnecting them and see if that helps, I have seen usb disconnects if the VCC (+) is connected on machanical endstopsby hexitex - General
This was about 4 hours 25 min (i played with speed during print), height is 10cm, width 2.8cm & depth 3.3cm. Printed from SD card. An impressive printer, take your time, smooth the extruder gears of all tiny bumps (ever so gently) and read all that is writtenby hexitex - Mendel90
Printed at 240C, the fan was running at 50% as this ABS doesn't freeze very quickly. used slic3r 0.98 and standard prusa bed as shipped by nophead in his kit. Tell me about this "ringing" what am i looking for? The first pic tried to explain the change of quality due to me playing about not macro shots as I can't be arsed to get out the macro rings, but 100% from images postedby hexitex - Mendel90
Build quality is nophead's design with dibond sheets, they are so tight in every direction, anything else to me is now a compromise.. Nozzle size was 0.4, Unenclosed in a cold room, that black ABS stinks, so windows open, Perimeters was 3 (more is better with large ABS, about 1.2mm walls in this case) and filament was 3mm..by hexitex - Mendel90
No calibration other than settings in slicer. This is the 3rd print from this machine. The obvious bands are where Iwas playing with speed and where i ran out of filament and had to do a change whilst running!. I am sure you'll agree that black ABS shows the worst of a printer, but this just looks so much better in real life. I am so impressed and know that running slower would have produced anby hexitex - Mendel90
the problem only occurs when i try and print with very fine layers, but i think you are right about temp reporting, my thermistors have an unknown product number so i am using a general 100k table. the ABS is good quality, i pay over the top from Germany (via reprapcentral) to make sure.by hexitex - General
sounds like a blocked nozzle or your ptfe insert has overheated and contracted.by hexitex - General
I had the same idea acetate sheets but couldn't find any in the office - not much call for them these days, good to know it works. Another idea i had was this tape acetate looks cheaper and easier to manage though.by hexitex - General
Pointedstick, i did try marlin but didn't get it to work too well, just config problems but it is a very different beast from sprinters config, guess i didn't try too hard. Having excellent quality running at 0.32 with my current setup so I didn't find the motivation to really understand it. jcabrer, you could be right but as above i get really nice prints with the current config, so not sureby hexitex - General
