Sweet! on receiving supplies, i like parts. Mcmaster is quick from Chicago, usually 2 days for me. I never ordered from Misumi, I have been ordering specialty parts from Ultimachine.
I am an aerospace engineer, so cad is like my thing. I am running linux at home mostly where I have loaded blender which does organic like shapes well, and OpenSCAD which is how do I say- interesting. OpenSCAD do

for software, i did quite a bit of reading and decided that repetier host and firmware was a leading package and so i wanted to start off with that. since then i have worked through installing and learning it and i am still favorably impressed. the preview, gcode editing window and live print views with layer by layer controll are really nice. the ability to use skeingorge is desirable too. p

I guess that makes two of us so far.
Don't forget to mark to follow this topic so you can get updates if other people join in and somebody starts setting dates.

Do we still have interest in the Saint Louis region to get together and chat in person?
We can select a location and time if we do.
I would be happy to share everything that I know about them. I can show my software to hardware interface in action and tool chain function as well as manufacturing techniques. I am still waiting on plastic parts to complete my printer unfortunately. In the mean t

oops, tried to use greaterthan and lessthan symbols in message and it omitted text-- update:
4) open repetierHost and in (printer settings) select port to match the USB port found above. If it does not have that selection, type it in.
5) in repetierHost select (connect).

Thanks Tinhead,
I had come across a similar method to name devices before but could not find it again when I needed it and I remember it being more complicated in their explination.
This one is much more concise, it will save me the inconvenience of extra steps.

If you are running Linux like me, you may have a small frustration with your printer not wanting to connect to the host software. I worked out this solution for myself, and thought that I would share it.
I am using; LInux Fedora v16x64, gnome, Repetier Host v.51, Repetier firmware v.70, reprap RAMPS v1.4.
Make sure to use only a standard baude rate 115200 or 57600 etc... the 250000 does not wor

Well, I just selected files myself, and hopefully they are a workable set:
These should be all the required plastic parts to get me up and running.
I saw a thread with recommendations for reprap rp parts to be printed at least using 3 surface layers, 15-20% infill for most parts and 30-50% infill for gears if anyone is printing parts for you.
Note there are extra files in the github directory s

Rik,
It does help to know someone who has one. Getting someone to print parts for you at cost for plastic ~ $20/lb + shipping sure is cheaper. I am waiting on a buddy at work to print a set for me now. But you can order a set from internet sources from other people who sell parts ~ $150 for a set of prusa parts I hear. Buyer beware though.

hello neighbors, I have been following reprap for about 5 years now and decided to finally build one. I am making a sae prusa mendel, no iu8uu but bushings and a greg-wade accessable extruder with a guideler. i am about 3/4 done. electronics checked, host and firmware loaded and mostly working (repetier), rods cut, extruder half done, bed in work. i started buying parts in Feb a little at a t

It is not that I cannot find any files in github, I find several sae prusa mendel directories.
but I am not sure which which are the best to use, or even if I have found them all.
I looked at github info and could not find adequate definition of how it is structured.
Thanks for the other suggestion but I already have 5/16 rods cut and am not planning on purchasing linear bearings.
I guess tha

i dont know much about gen6 electronics. with only a quick look at
it appears that 12v power is required for programming (which is different from ramps), and some specific commands are used for firmware loading. I assume you have tried those. do gen6 boards require the reset button to be pressed to upload? on arduino boards the reset is sometimes required, and may be sensitive to exactly whe

I can empathize Rick, I have the same setup except I am running Linux Fedora. I have electronics assembled and have not yet had what I consider a connection between electronics and Host. The demo program for the electronics moved all the steppers fine, but yet to establish the connection with actual firmware. I got online here to try to figure out what settings I need to adjust to get the comm

Unless I misunderstand, I think this is what you were asking for-
My versions appear to be as follows:
your firmware v0.61
Arduino v0022
avr-gcc-4.6.1
avr-libc-1.7.1
Board: Arduino Mega AVR ATmega1280-16AU USB
I am still somewhat a beginner with Arduino, so let me know if you needed something else.
My errors are still the same as the code you suggested to change, I could not locate in my files to

Repetier,
Thank you for your efforts, unfortunately I can't get that fix to work for me. Unless my searches were incorrect, in my installation version iomxx0_1.h and Print.cpp files do not contain those lines of code. I may try to compile on a windows machine in the mean time as you suggest, but I am not in a big hurry just yet with my build. Let me know if you need any more info or testing t

I would like to add a note here, as noted in the Repetier firmware readme.txt (not in Documentation) another solution to this graphics driver crash is to get an SD card for the reprap and load the print file to the SD and run the print from there.
under version notes section:
"4.3 SD card

Repetier,
I really like how much you have commented the code, it makes is much easier to follow, thanks alot. But now after setting up the firmware v0.61 for my RAMPS 1.4 settings and compiling using Arduino v0022 on Fedora 16 64 bit and get the following errors which may be more PROGMEM statements that you comented about, could you help please? By the way, only my electronics are done, no heatin

Thanks repetier,
You were right, I did not have skeinforge set right. Now I have read through that manual too, and am seeing prints.
The Slic3r perl 32 bit libs issue I will put off until I feel the need to go through that.
I really like your RepetierHost interface, it has great features!
I saw in another post of yours about Arduino v1.0, does your firmware require Arduino v1.0? or will v.0022 w

Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
I have two install/setup issues with RepetierHost and was wanting some ideas to help resolve it please.
The host seems to work with stl parts and skeinforge v50 and generate G-code but I cannot view any build graphics in the G-code visual editor right window except for using the test case included with the program. The test case seems to appear and work just as advertised. Also strangely the in
