I was struggling with z wobble on my new mendelmax. My solution with standard 8mm threaded shafts and nuts was to not use the spring and nut on top. I had read that in some old post on this forum. May not be the best solution as the x carriage is now using gravity to hold it in place. But it did allow me to get printing again and there is zero wobble. Nice clean prints.
My long term fix i

For ABS Kapton tape scuffed lightly heated to 110. I have been using a 1 or 2 pass brim on tricky parts. No curling

Backlash did seem to be part of my problem. Loose belt. Other item I found is my filament was running small into the spool. Made an adjustment for that and seems to be better now.

Might also try lowering nozzle temp some.

Download Repetier-Host and slice up a few things from Thingiverse. You can see how speeds, layer heights, infill % , infill type all affect the print time. Repetier-Host will show you the estimated print time for the gcode file after it slices.

We extrude a lot of very small wire and cable with custom equipment. Tolerances extremely tight
We pull after the extruded material has been cooled in the cooling trough. Not sure if that would be possible in your case.

Are you printing ABS or PLA?
PLA with plain glass or mirror and a 4:1 mix of PVA (Elmers Glue) and water. 60 degree heat. This has been working very well for me.
First layer printed at 35% speed.
ABS
Glass with Kapton Tape, scuffed up with sandpaper heated to 110 degrees.
So far I have had really good luck with the above. On some ABS I have added a single or double line brim if I think a c

Check your wiring to the motor. My extruded stopped moving this morning. Just fogged back and forh. Had a broken wire at the connector.
Fixed wire and all is good.

What ^^^^^ he said.
That is what I did. Get one running without a lot of fuss then build another.

I am building a 1.5 version now. I do like the rigidity and ease of setup on the frame and rods.

Sorry, I just seen this. BusyBotz printed my parts. Did a great job worked through the file issues with me.
Been printing heavily for the last 2 weeks with the new printer.
My Printer assembly started 2 weeks ago with the parts from BusyBotz

I think this may have been a backlash issue. Tightened up my x axis belt and the inner fill now looks good all the way around.

Has anyone seen an issue with the infill leaving gaps on the inner perimeters?
Outer perimeter is perfect.

Yes, I understand but for some reason it would not work.
After I did the export, it did start working and I was able use the little save button.
Thanks,

I had the same problem as you experienced.
Here is my solution.
In the setup window for slic3r both fields are blank.
I had to find where the slic3r config was actually being stored.
In my case c:\documents and settings\stevek\local settings\application data\repetierhost.
In this directory there should be a slic3r.ini file
If not then click the configure button in repetier-host slic3r.

I need a set of parts printed in Abs.
Let me know if anyone has some print time available for a reasonable cost.

Thanks,
