Just changed it, and still no effect.
Still treats it as if the extruder is at 0,0 rather than 10.4,-18.1.

Well in which case I shall set it to 2 and see what happens!
Thanks!

Are you printing onto a glass bed which is on a heated plate?
If so, make sure that the glass is fixed to the bed with sufficient force!
I once tried to tape it down with tape, and I was getting crazy step skips.
It was the bed sliding about which caused it!
This may not be your issue.

What RepRap design are you using?

Hello,
I currently have a delta machine running Marlin and the carriage I am using has space for 2 hot-ends, however I am only using 1 currently.
This means that the prints are off centre by the X Y offset.
I have had a quick look and apparently M218 is the way to go for this.
I have put in to my start G-Code:
This hasn't done anything sadly, so I was wondering if I have put it in the wrong

Thanks for the reply.
I have found these so I shall be printing them out to see if they help!
Thanks.

Printing
Hi,
So I have recently got myself an i3 Prusa and I am having some really weird issues!
When I print a large part The layers go really wobbly.
When I print something small they are really neat and the print is superb!
I have attached an image of this issue and if you can shed any light on the issue I will greatly appreciate it!

FIXED!
Turns out if the error in the print bead from the firmware's 0 is greater than 20mm +/- it won't go any higher.
So I altered my firmware to take this into account and getting much nicer numbers now!

Hey,
So I have just installed one of the PrintrBot sensors to auto bed level on my printer.
I have gone into Rich C's fork of Marlin for the Auto Bed Leveling features.
However, when i send either a G29 or a G30 command I always get -20 as the result. (See attachment)
The first set is a G29 and the latter results are from a G30 command.
Does anyone have any idea why it is all coming out as -

Hey Peach,
A clogging nozzle could be due to a number of reasons!
A few of which you have tried to fix yourself.
I would (if you can) strip down the hot-end as much as you can and give it a good clean! It could be that a small bit of dirt has got into the heated chamber and is blocking the Nozzle.
The simplest way to trying to fix this is to heat some filament up and let it cool a bit, then

Dave,
I now know what you are after.
And yes, they are EXTREMELY hard to come by!
I haven't seen them stocked anywhere apart from US and Int sellers.

Hey,
First of all the printer you are building looks awesome!
As for the juttering on the Y-axis it sounds like you need to calibrate the Pot's on your stepper driver.
It is simple to do:
On your stepper driver there should be a small circle with a cross on it.
This cross is for a screwdriver to alter the amount of current going to the Motor.
Rotating the pot anti-clockwise decreases curren

Hey Dave,
What you are looking for are 'Socket Set Screws'
I just did a quick google and found these:
I cannot remember what size the JHeads take but I would guess either 2mm or 3mm.
Have a look on eBay I am sure you will find some if you search for Socket Set Screws.
Hope this helps,
Alex

Hey,
Zavashier is right.
The end-stops should be mounted at the very top of your machine where the axis carriages hit the top plate.
They should be set to such a depth that the carriages do NOT hit the top plate. If they do you could have some very nasty out comes!
Depending on what type of switches you use depends on the mounting technique.
Hope this helps,
Alex

Hey,
On my 3D Printers I use simple push buttons and lever switches.
I know you can use optical and even Hall Effect switches for homing.
You can get 3 push switches for a few Dollars/Pounds and I don't see the benefit of buying an optical switch for 5-10x the cost!
I have no experience of using these alternatives on 3D printers, but I am yet to tell myself, "Dam, I wish I had better switches

Hmmm, sounds very odd!
With the temp at 200*C+ it would lead me to believe that you either have the wrong thermistor selected in the firmware, or the thermistor has failed and needs to be replaced.
Do you know what Thermistor you have and do you have a multimeter?
Thanks

Hey,
M119 works perfectly and it says triggered when I press the buttons and they all work independently.
My X Min and Y Min are all -1 so thats not the issue.
Since my last post I am thinking of doing a servo-less probe. Maybe a manual deployment as I think servo's are too much hassle for what they are worth.
Thanks.

Delta Machines
Hey,
I am wanting to see how auto bed levelling works on my printer before I get servo's and all that jazz, so I simply made a mount for a push button and swapped it with my extruder.
I am using Marlin - Jcrocholl's version.
Now, I have found something very odd!
I have all the inverting and all that set up correctly as my button is N/O rather than N/C.
When I do a straight G29 it goes throug

Hey,
I have just had a thought.
You could run 2 motors on each axis. One at the top, one at the bottom.
A Ramps can handle 2 motors on each axis as it can do 2 on the Z axis.
With x2 the power it may make it work?
Thanks

Hey,
I am seeing how fast my Delta can print and I have found that it can easily cope with 50mm/s
I have set the infill to that speed and it prints AT 50mm/s
Oddly the perimeters do print at 50mm/s when on the Solid Infill layers.
When I get to the 0% infill layers they print at 20-30mm/s
Does anyone have any idea on what may be causing this?
Thanks

Delta Machines
Hey,
Today I ran into a bit of an unexpected issue.
I was setting up my delta 3D Printer and I accidently pressed -10Y rather than -10Z.
This then caused my axis carriage to crash into my end-stop.
This then got me thinking. I have a max of 200mm and I have the same set up in my Slic3r and Repetier Host.
Thus meaning It could slice and print models up to 200mm in height.
However, with this

And thanks for that log you did!

GOD DAMMIT!!!
I had a number wrong in the Printer Set-up.
I had put 29mm rather than 92mm
29mm is an Impossible value, hence why it crashed when i tried to move it!
ARGH!!!

Well this has made my life a lot harder!
My Sanguinololu board doesn't work!
It has exactly the same issue as my Ramps 1.4.
What the hell is going on?!

Hey,
I am glad you got it working!
And I am extremely grateful that you are logging the issues and errors + fixes.
and Good News!
I have found my Sanguinololu Board!
I will have a play on Monday and it should work as it worked with my old cartesian printer.
If it doesn't work I know it is firmware.
If it does then it must be the Mega or the Ramps shield.
And I can test the shield with usi

Hmmm, that is a good idea!
I won't be able to gain access to the 3D Printer until Monday sadly!
I have a few Ideas to try and narrow down what it is.
I have a spare Ramps 1.4 shield which I can swap to see if it is the shield.
I also have an old Sanguinololu board somewhere, but the location of said item is proving to be tricky to locate!
With any luck I will have a few fixes to try on Monda

Okay, So when I do G28 then G1 Z300 (Max should be 250)
The printer doesn't move but when I send M114, the Z is at 300. Which is shouldn't be!
I have attached a screenshot of this.

EDIT:
I have max_software_endstops set to false. Hence why it can happily go to 300
