You should hunt down the info on the exact thermocouple/thermistor they use in their hotend, then apply the proper number for the proper type in the firmware. I believe the "b" version of your hotend is using a smaller thermistor, maybe it has a different selection? Chances are whatever they are using is on that list somewhere.by xclusive585 - General
Look at your extruder thermistor for this problem.. make sure it's wired correctly and you have the proper type selected in your firmwareby xclusive585 - General
Did you ever just try the reset button on the arduino, and restart your pc for good measure?by xclusive585 - Reprappers
So Reprapdiscount has in fact changed their RAMPS from counterfeit Arduinos, to a made in China version (Taurino I believe?). I was happy to see this and ordered one, and it was received as pictured. I'm more than happy to buy clones, as long as the manufacturers and sellers are open and honest about it. Thanks to reprapdiscount for not selling counterfeits anymore.by xclusive585 - RAMPS Electronics

The single driver on the ramps for Z is no different than the other drivers, I see no reason you can't do the same with the others, provided the motors will still have enough current to each of themselves, without going over the (approx) 1A limit on the Pololus.by xclusive585 - RAMPS Electronics
Quoteso 2555.6677 should be 2555.66 Out of curiosity, wouldn't you want 2555.67?by xclusive585 - General
I've played some with Player/Stage and found it more to be for groups of robots doing tasks, rather than for kinematics. Then I stumbled on OpenRAVE which has an emphasis on kinematics. The GUI simulation portion is bulky but works, and more importantly this software seems to be much more geared towards my (big) little project. I loaded up an example robot/simulation, and it beats the hell outby xclusive585 - Robots!

Any axis will only move so far if it hasn't been homed. If the firmware doesn't know where home is, it limits how far things can move away from home. I'd start there. Make sure your Z is truly homed and that your firmware knows it.by xclusive585 - Firmware - mainstream and related support

I'm going to get my first taste of a Bowden soon on a Rostock. I'm looking forward to it. Will be using 1.75mm and I'm switching my prusa to 1.75 to avoid having to stock different diameters here. We shall see how it goes.by xclusive585 - General
I personally like buying full kits, in addition to sourcing the customizations I want. Believe it or not, kits can be as cheap as sourcing the parts yourself. And I like extra parts. For example I just ordered a Rostock Max a few days ago, I got the complete kit even though I probably wont even be using the supplied electronics or PSU, I even have my own motors I could use. :-) Sourcing my own paby xclusive585 - General
