Just my 2 cents, I would check if the motors would move and the current current. Then adjust clockwise or anti-clockwise according. I've killed one driver by over turning and they're a pain in the ass wait for those ordered from ebay, unless you have a shop nearby that you can pop by and get a replacement. Patience is not one of my virtue. Lol.by chngyian - RAMPS Electronics
What about the PSU, is it overheating? My LED psu is pretty sensitive about temperature and the whole printer would act funny if I don't place a fan in front of it. I spent a few hours just to figure that out.by chngyian - RAMPS Electronics
Can't remember where, but I read something that goes like this. If the thickness in the model is 1mm and the nozzle is 0,4mm, there would be a 0.2mm gap in between as there is no way the 0.4mm nozzle can form a 1mm thickness. Anyhow, a picture would help.by chngyian - Reprappers
I've got something like that when my extruder was extruding so much that the cooled off abs was obstructing the movement of the nozzle. Since the print is quite small, what you can do is the sit and observe the print. See what is stopping the movement of the hot end.by chngyian - Printing

I've got something similar when I turned off the cooling fan completely to prevent warping, because the fan was indirectly cooling the heat bed quite significantly. It caused the heat to creep up and result in inconsistent extrusion. I managed to work around the problem by using kapton tape to tape a temporary fan shroud to direct the air purely to the hot end and not to the heat bed. Let me knoby chngyian - General
Hey, I scanned thru both and thought the kit norcalreprap seems better. They are more thorough with the product specifications and the kit looks aesthetically better, although the price is higher than the other. But don't just take my word for it, it really depends on what you want and need. i.e. some would prefer to get a cheap kit that barely works and then customize their upgrades from thereby chngyian - Singapore RUG

Yeah, check the fan. I experienced bad quality prints when I turned off the fan to control warping, due to creeping of the heat upwards I guess. *this is not a botby chngyian - General
For exchange? I am not too sure where to get good quality kits, but you can check out the for sale sub-forum and do a bit of googling. For a start it'll be good to get a better quality kit. Once you learn how things work, you can start to experiment with the cheaper stuff to see how you can save some money. Lol.by chngyian - Singapore RUG
I guess as a general guideline, the x-axis endstop should be at the left, y-axis endstop should be at the end nearer to you and the z-axis endstop should be at the bottom of the carriage. Endstops are used to tell the machine where the ends are so they can be pretty much be anywhere and really depends on the make and model like what woodencase said.by chngyian - General
Look for something similar to motor direction in the configuration.h file and switch it. i.e. from true to false or from false to true, whichever appliesby chngyian - Reprappers
I got it from 3dprinterczar for 500usd including shipping. It's pretty cheap for a kit but I wouldn't recommend it because the quality of the printer parts are quite bad and there were a couple of missing components. I managed to get everything working after a trip to the hardware store and lots of cable ties. Lol! The kit from makerfarm seems to have pretty good reviews, although the shipping tby chngyian - Singapore RUG
No idea why the new printers are gravitating towards 1.75mm but if I'm not wrong, you just need to swap the hot end you'll be able to use filaments of another diameter.by chngyian - General
I just got a kit a while ago and just had my first print today, so I probably don't have enough experience to say which is better for a starter. Lol. For me, I chose Prusa i3 because there's a big community out there with lots of video tutorials and information available online. I figured that it would be easier for me to get help if I needed any. Look around the forums and online, there are many models of reprap 3d printers. For a start I guess you can start with Prusa i3 (or any model if you have any preference), it's one of the more popular model currently so it's easy to get help if you have some problems. From there you can learn more and tweak it to meet your needs or get another model that suits you better. Once you've decided on thby chngyian - Singapore RUG

Hey bro, short feedback for the 3dprinterczar kit. Really value with the amount of things they give, like psu glass spirit level. The sales guy in Canada is also super nice, he added on a 1kg abs because my shipment was delayed. But on the other side, my acrylic bed arrived broken, a few missing printed parts and missing misc items like nuts and stuff. When I contacted them, they agreed to send mby chngyian - Singapore RUG
