As a side note, clear coat is not a suitable material for printing on, at best it gave minimal warpage, but under all conditions it was messed up as much as any adhesive would be. Unsuitable/unreasonable. Edit: Loctite Adhesive, although strong in proper use, post cure, not only stinks to high fluffy clouds, but does not work initially, the first layer moves around a bit, making for rounded corneby MrDoctorDIV - Printing
It's like a switch flipped and many people are now testing printing on carbon fiber vinyl. I'm still waiting on my DI-NOC to arrive two weeks later.. Good design, looks like it's printing solid and clean.by MrDoctorDIV - Delta Machines
Just one more thing I remembered; I'm in the process of building a printer, so questions for those currently building one might help as well. Those inside the learning curve can often have some good insight, as it's fresh and often less biased, though often uneducated as well.by MrDoctorDIV - General
A screen shot would be wonderful. If you have a good image editor you'll have to use that to export to a smaller file size, it's quite limited in the forums. I'd check for loose connections, proper baud rate, loose power supply, overheating stepper drivers, etc. It's good to see another Mormon around here, though chances are there are a few who just aren't as open as you .by MrDoctorDIV - Printing
.15mm is a fair resolution to start with. I would solve your other quality issues first. Lower layer heights require a better tuned printer, very much so. It takes me about a week to fine tune my printer to achieve 70micron layers [0.07mm], but that's because I have a bad printer that doesn't hold a tune very long or very well. I solve other issues before I push the layer resolution. At parts itby MrDoctorDIV - Printing

I would definitely get a heatsink and fan on that motor, by every means. Also, 100C is insane for PLA, and will degrade your quality. I print at 45C, many print without heat. You'll find heat will help, but is by absolutely no means needed in similar fashion as ABS. You want PLA to harden as quickly as possible after it leaves the nozzle to reduce upward curling.by MrDoctorDIV - Printing
Took the survey, and I did find plenty for those who build their own printer from a kit. I found nothing I can remember about those who sourced their own parts and made their own design. Those who do feel accomplished and proud of their work, it's not the easiest thing in the world, so proper placement for those people would be nice. As DIYT.S. said, firmware requires no change. Simply change your slicer settings to the new profile. I personally have 2-3 profiles per material, due to different vendors/uses.by MrDoctorDIV - General
That is harsh, and rash. China imports are not inherently bad, just a majority of them are, not 100%. He obviously has a few buyers here that like and enjoy his products, so he's achieved what few do and got the good stuff from China. With that, I've got nothing negative to say about how he does business. If he was truly all US, his prices would be far higher. People would then go elsewhere to geby MrDoctorDIV - General
More details on your setup would allow for better help It doesn't matter what gantry system you are using, there are many ways to fit them, the best one is debatable and highly depends on how you've built it/plan to build it.by MrDoctorDIV - Reprappers
Groove mount like that, if you've got the money, just go get an E3D v6, all hotend problems solved if built and tuned properly. If that's not an option you want to take; I don't have experience adding a fan to an extruder with insulation. In my mind it wouldn't dissipate the heat well enough, fan or not. You'll have to consult the more experience for that one. On temps, my Solidoodle original hoby MrDoctorDIV - Printing
Picture of your hotend would help. It's likely that it isn't disapating the heat well. When PLA heats, it expands and will clog the hotend if it top is not kept cool. That's where active cooling on all metal hotends comes into play. Plenty can insulate well enough passively, with insulation and a good heat break.by MrDoctorDIV - Printing
They make the lense as per normal SLA, then as a post production, add the droplets with smooth out the surface simply by natural tension of the resin. Excellent idea, I'd thought of similar things, but they have a much better way of going about it. With FDM machines, use an clear filament and you can "clearly" see why it wouldn't work. The internals are full of holes, pits, bubbles. I have yetby MrDoctorDIV - General
Quotepbrstreetgang No more of Adrian Bowyer's pseudo-science. It's just white noise & soap operas as far as I'm concerned. Adrian had a dream, a vision. He saw what they had at the time, saw what they were capable of, and made a goal. Pseudo-science? Where's the science, and where's the fake part? It's not a science, it's a goal. Tried three times to sign up as a supplier, but I got no confirmation page, nor does dashboard display anything besides the title "Dashboard." Like the panning scroll, though. On my computer it's clean and smooth, as is everything.by MrDoctorDIV - Jobs for people with RepRap skills
You're better off getting help in the General forum . Also, better off getting help actually describing the problem, and in detail. Got any example prints and what you would pay? It's an interesting concept, would you be able to easily deny/claim print jobs? How clean is the system?by MrDoctorDIV - Jobs for people with RepRap skills
I love it. Very well thought out. Picking out the same good things I'm looking at. I've got nothing much more to add except an automatic fire suppression system Yes, yes, and yes with FABTotum's modified CoreXY. The instant I saw that I fell in love. Just throwing a question out there on DLP speed. Would a Sony 4K projector make for super fast, super sized prints at the same resolution for others? Or am I missing something? Which is likely with my limited DLP printing knowledge.by MrDoctorDIV - General

The vinyl worked perfectly for me on a glass plate but strangely on a aluminum plate it just wont stick for more than 3 to 4 layers of print...
