I went to the hobby store and found the same copper tubing. I fit it and it seems to be doing the job. Thanks for the idea.by CptanPanic - General

I got a E3D to run on my DIYTechShop i3A, and am having some problems. I get frequently where the filament will not feed, but gets bunched up on the input hole. If I pull it out, I can push the filament through the nozzle manually, but when it runs sometimes this happens. Sometimes at the beginning, sometimes 1hr through. I am using 1.75 ToyBuilderLabs ABS at 255C. Any suggestions?by CptanPanic - General
In the scad file for hotend_mount, the e3d would be a groovemount?by CptanPanic - General Mendel Topics
I have a DIYTechShop Prusa i3 Alpha, and just got a e3d hotend. Doesn't really fit, so I at least need to make an adapter. But I was wondering if there is a better option. What came with it is a Greg Wade's extruder with a slot cut out for the hotend, where the stock hotend slides in without a seperate piece that bolts on the bottom. I see various designs with herringbone gears, etc. And wonby CptanPanic - General Mendel Topics
Quotecozmicray Elmers purple glue stick does the trick Smear it on while glass bed is cool I have been using the purple stick and it sticks great. Have to pry part off glass when it is done.by CptanPanic - Printing
The filament is black abs from toy builder labs, which has gotten good reviews. I can try a lower temp.by CptanPanic - General
I am still finalizing my build of a DIYTechShop i3a, and was able to print a couple of calibration objects, and some brakets for auto-level probe. Next I was going to make some new endstop holders, but am now unable to print as the extruder is jamming. For example yesterday I soaked everything in acetone, and flossed out the end with some .47mm guitar string. I then heated it up to 235 for ABSby CptanPanic - General
@drgrs Why did you add a fan to Y axis motor?by CptanPanic - Reprappers
I saw some talk about using ;@execute, but not examples. I would like to email myself using gmail when a job was complete, anyone have a script for this for windows? Thanks, CPby CptanPanic - Repetier
Quoteswe3tdave if the 5v standby of your psu is not powerfull enough, it might start to heat up, if that is the case, its possible that the fan would turn on automatically. Do you have the specs of your power supply on the 5v standby? How many amps? You could use a separate 5v power supply... Or just keep the usb connected... You misunderstood my question. I am not using the 5V standby to powby CptanPanic - RAMPS Electronics
A follow up question, I have the ps-on wired up, but if I have usb disconnected the atx supply turns partially on. If I connect the sub then it turns it off fully. Do I need a resistor or something else on wire? Thanksby CptanPanic - RAMPS Electronics
I am using Marlin firmware, and on the temperature tab. I can see when the extruder is powered on/off, but the bed power is not being shown. The bed is powered correctly using the g-code, and the manual control buttons, but are not updated on display. Any ideas?by CptanPanic - Repetier

I just got my i3alpha kit from DIYTS on friday, and pretty much got it all together over the weekend. Still waiting on endstops, stepper driver heatsinks, and a replacment small gear, and was told that they are on backorder, but will be sent out as soon as they receive them. In looking at the extruder motor, I noticed it didn't have a flat side. Did your guys motors have a flat, or modify itby CptanPanic - General Mendel Topics
I found the problem. There was a crossed wire in the motor harness. It works now.by CptanPanic - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
I just put together a i3a from DIY Tech shop, and the X/Y/Z steppers all work fine, but the extruder motor just twitches back and forth if I try to command it. I have verified it is not the stepper controller, but it is specific to the motor. The axis motors are all Casun 42SHD202-24T, but the extruder one is a longer nema17 Labeled as 17PM-402-P4V from Minebea-Matshushita. I got my i3a, and have it assembled. Came with everything except endstops switches and endstop holders, and motor controller heatsinks, and sent them an email. I am working on the software setup now.by CptanPanic - Reprappers

Quotermm200 Johnnyr (good man) got in touch with me and got me straightened out. He also updated the WIKI with more info, so rather than quote him I will just direct future callers there... Sorry to bring up old thread, but which WIKI got updated with this information? How did you end up wiring this up? Did you remove the diode? Thanks, CPby CptanPanic - RAMPS Electronics
Quoteusarmyaircav QuoteCptanPanic What is the difference between the Alpha and the Omega. Looks like the alpha comes with a heated bed, but is also cheaper. What am I missing? Build size is the main thing besides the heated bed that you mentioned. If I get this one I am going to get the makerfarm large heatbed to go with it. Alpha - 222.25mm x 222.25mm x 165.1mm. (8.75"x8.75"x6.5") Omega - 22by CptanPanic - Reprappers
