Where I had seen them and found the price was at that first link DeuxVis stated from ebay. My ABS parts arrived in the mail yesterday. Pretty exciting but I'm still waiting on the threaded rod to come!by Phizinza - Reprappers
Ahhh, Ok I see. Thank you for clearing that up!by Phizinza - Reprappers
It's alright, I know there are always problems. I'm just hoping nothing to large! I like to look on the bright side of life. Got a quick question. Traumflug said I needed 4 stepstick/pololus drivers and the Prusa page says I need 5 Nema 17 motors. Wouldn't the 5th need a driver too?by Phizinza - Reprappers
I expect a fair bit of soldering is in order, but that is no issue as I have plenty of experience with that and a good Weller to get it all done neatly. I have a shed full of fabricating tools and have done plenty of DIY projects on the lathe, drill press etc. Talking of lathes I forgot to write about the GT2 belts I'll be using. From Small Parts I also got a 2200mm 2mm pitch 6mm wide GT2 beltby Phizinza - Reprappers
I should really be doing other things but I need to get away from study and work right now! hahaha So I've been reading about RepRap's for a couple of months and finally decided last week what I am going to get. I've purchased a Prusa plastic printed parts kit locally from Australia. It comes with 11 linear bearings. Gen 7 Electronics kit from Traumflug. Some of my hardware parts from Small Paby Phizinza - Reprappers
I think I just figured it out. the 12 tooth pulley has an outside diameter of about 7.64mm and because the teeth of 0.76mm high that gives a diameter between bottom of teeth of about 6.12mm. The Nema 17 motor has a 5mm shaft size. The 10 tooth pulley has a diameter between bottom of teeth of about 4.85mm, therefor you couldn't drill the hole for the Nema 17's shaft. I'm a bit worried even a 12by Phizinza - Mechanics
I have found a source for GT belts in Australia. But the pulleys are super expensive. An alternative is to get pulley bar stock. So I can get enough stock to cut myself enough pulleys for the same price as a single aluminium pulley. The question is what amount of teeth should I get for the pulleys? I have option to get 10 teeth to 40 teeth. I read on the wiki page explaining why GT2 belts are bby Phizinza - Mechanics
I've read that the Gen 7 can't easily have a heat bed run off of it but RAMPS can. Is this true? Anymore details about this?by Phizinza - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Ok, so with the linear bearing upgrade is there any downsides the Prusa has over the original or is it all better? And I was looking at that Prusa Air, looks pretty neat. Anyone here using the Air frame here? As for nozzle size, is it simply just the smaller it is the finer the detail and slower the printing? Would a 0.35mm nozzle be a good starting point for smoother finishes but not too diby Phizinza - Reprappers
Hi, I've been reading much about these printers and looking on ebay at partly preassembled kits which include structural parts and extruders. I'll start with just a couple of questions. Should I get the Prusa Mendel or an Original Mendel? If I am correct the Prusa doesn't use bearings to simplify and cheapen things? I'm a fan of bearings in moving parts so I don't mind getting them and installinby Phizinza - Reprappers
