uploaded all OpenSCAD files for the Prism, including all Makerslide parts as seen in the build pictures. Some parts are still being modified and tweeked. They are available at:

I have finished all connections and I am beginning to calibrate the printer. The Bowden extruder is working like a charm! If all goes well I should have it calibrated enough to start some basic

I paid $23 for two 1meter long makerslide extrusions and about $30-$40 for the carriage parts. I bought the aluminum carriage and the roller/bearing kits from the inventor before he passed it to inventables.com. They list the the 1 meter extrusion for 19.99 and 1.8 meter for 29.99. The system is a bit more expensive than linear bearings and smooth rods, but I think that it is a nice "upgrade".

The "x axis" stepper is on the beam, but not on the carriage. The motor is static and does not move. You can not see the attachment screws for the motor mount, since they are behind the stepper. I will post a video of a "dry" run. I have not connected the heat bed or hot end heater elements nor the thermistors, but all the rest of the electronics are plugged in and functioning. I think I wil

I finally got back to building my Prism... I have all the axis attached. Electronics are fully functioning. Need to make a case for the RAMPs with alum extrusion mounting options. The I will work on the Bowden extruder and the build surface. I hope to have it done by Thanksgiving... You can see pictures of the build at the following link:

Got all main parts made in Openscad and made most of them parametric. I have also started designing the makerslide parts. You can find the fork at . Let me know if there is anything that needs changing. I will post pictures of the progress of my Prism build in a bit...

These drivers are sensitive and easy to fry. There is a very hidden and small note that cautions you in regards to connecting and disconnecting the stepper motor from the board with power applied. I, like you, was testing my steppers using one axis and was plugging and unplugging the stepper motors with power applied to the board. The driver kind of survived, but died a week or so after the te

I have committed to building a Prism, but with a slight change... I'm going to use the Makerslide system for the Y and X axis. I will be designing a vertical mount for the X-axis.
I saw on the Prism wiki that you would like to make OpenSCAD files for all the Prism parts. Is anyone working on this? If not, I would be willing to redo all the parts in OpenSCAD, but I do not want to duplicate eff

I have the exact same "cogging" on my machine. I thought it was normal.... The funny thing is that when I changed the x-axis belt to a GT2 belt and pulley, the "cogging" got proportionally smaller. If there is a way to eliminate it, I would be interested...

I have noticed that 0.7.1 now adds inline comments to some of the temperature gcodes. This is usually not an issue for most people with the exception of SDcard users (with marlin fw in my case). Any line with a semicolon is thrown out and not executed by the firmware. After slicing a file, I have to open the file and remove all the comments. Could the comments be moved to their own line befor

Figured out what was causing my prints to not complete when done from an SD card... The problem was comments added at the end of each part of the "start/end" gcode (slicer allows you to add gcode to the beginning and end of the gcode generation). I had copied the start/end code from a website I came across and the code was commented (semicolon before the comment) in line with the gcode. Once I

I'm running a Prusa Mendel V2 with a Sanguinololu 1.3 controller, SD Ramps with modified connector for Sanguino, Marlin 1.0.0 RC2 firmware, slic3r 0.7.1 and prontoface latest version. I can load and print from prontoface just fine. At the end of the print, the platform is moved to the front, all motors are shutdown and the heaters are shutdown. Life is good! Did you replace the PTFE liner with an appropriate sized liner for use with 1.75mm filament? J-Heads only come with 3mm liners....
Just a thought.

I'm building a prusa iter 2 lm8uu version. The build has been going well, but I finally ran into a small issue. When assembling the x-idler, there in no space between the bearing and the support bar attached to the lm8uu bearing holder. I am considering cutting off the support bar, since lowering the 8mm hole for clearance would not work. Are there any other suggestions or should I just cut t
