The mounting holes were according to the switch and the holes are 9.5mm (? I cannot check at the moment) away according to the data sheet. I printed two versions of them (one is not published yet) and I had no problems using the holes. My holes have a tight fit. Maybe you have another version of the x-carriage. Which printer version do you own? Which x-carriage do you use? Did you scale the x-carby Treito - Ormerod
QuoteFilafarm FilaPrint give you a stronger adhession than Buildtalk and once cooled down the parts remove very easily ! I will report, but for the moment I am very disappointed regarding PrintBite. The latest advice was to use ABS juice, but I am not happy doing this (fumes and cleaning, but especially the fumes) and besides my forthcoming printer will have a permanently mounted surface so thisby Treito - Ormerod
The maximum possible reading is 1024. However maybe your signal wire is shortcut to the 3.3V DC power supply or even worst. What reading do you get when removing the cable? If the problem is solved meanwhile then please tell us what kind of error applied.by Treito - Ormerod
Erik the FilaPrint seems to use a different adhesive. It's kind of funny. At at least one German FB group is a guy who only finds bad words for FilaPrint, but if you would have seen his setup and especially how he mounted the FilaPrint. The area of air bubbles is bigger than the area of correct adhesion. Now he just told that he needed to remove the rest adhesive more than 15 minutes. Besides isby Treito - Ormerod
Hello Daniel, PrintBite is also based on FR4 as clear mentioned. The manual adviced to use specific cleaner but it didn't mention that industrial cleaners could harm the surface. To be honest, I am not convinced that the cleaner harmed the surface. The second printer had some trouble, too, but here I didn't use it. FR4 shouldn't be more harmful than Pertinax which you sell meanwhile. Besides atby Treito - Ormerod
As long as you keep the temperature below 120°C there should not be any toxic fumes. The most interesting thing is the comparison between BuildTak and Pertinax. I am not sure if a better adhesion for ABS is possible. If the Pertinax plate is better then I will buy a FilaPrint. If not I would stay with PrintBite.by Treito - Ormerod
Exactly that's the reason why I asked, but I only had less information. One was also 200°C. As my old hotend probably got too hot I didn't notice any special fumes, but only a very tiny part got damaged. Probably E3D calculates some safety. I think I will not exceed 250°C. It seems like that this is the right temperature for PrintBite.by Treito - Ormerod
That's my idea for my new printer. The screw heads should be at the same height as the aluminum and PrintBite will cover the heads. However the setup 125/250°C worked once for ABS for me. This weekend I will run further test. However I switched the hotend. The original one always cooled down the print at least a little bit. My current setup needs a second fan at least for PLA, because it only cooby Treito - Ormerod
I will give a Pertinax plate a try. Cheap solution, but probably it needs to be sanded regularly.by Treito - Ormerod
The size for the Ormerod is 214x200mm. I am telling that the price is not very much because I recently bought a PrintBite for my coming printer with a bed size of 300x300mm. The price for a PrintBite or BuildTak with these dimensions is about 35€. The German "standard" FilaPrint is about 95€. I first wanted to build a printer with 400x400mm bed size but the costs for a heated bed in this dimensioby Treito - Ormerod
The price? The standard permanently bed surface here in Germany costs twice as PrintBite and for my forthcoming printer even three times more than PrintBite. The price is okay for a durable bed surface and is similar with BuildTak, but BuildTak doesn't last very long. The pattern is okay and that's the main difference to a normal FR4.by Treito - Ormerod
For PLA it works quite good, but I still have trouble with little warping with PLA. For ABS it works with the above settings and nearly no warping. You need high temperatures especially for the first layer. It is based on FR4, but the sticking is much better. PrintBite is robust but very sensitive regarding the cleaner you use. Probably I have destroyed one, but it was not mentioned that you areby Treito - Ormerod
Okay thanks. I asked because I got several information that the maximum working temperature should not exceed 245°C.by Treito - Ormerod
Hello, after my original Hot-end died because the PTFE-liner inside melted I am wondering what is the maximum temperature for it. For the moment I use PrintBite and this requires a temperature setup of 125/250°C. Is this okay or already too high? Best regards, Svenby Treito - Ormerod
I am using dc42 mini height sensor board with PrintBite. Works as good as a direct contact switch.by Treito - General
Shame on me! I have an Arduino sensor kit, but I have not taken a deeper look at it and guess what: There is a gas sensor included. But I also hoped that there is a ready solution. I know there are ordinary smoke detectors for rooms which provide a potential free contact for registering alarms, but that would be oversized. The gas sensor board would need some sort of additional controller platfoby Treito - Duet
I am wondering how other printers get rid of this problem. Maybe the connection design is completely wrong for the rods. As I found some interesting linear sliding bearings I am thinking of getting rid of the rods and adding a second extrusion at the front and using two sliding rails at both extrusions with at least three sliders minimum.by Treito - Ormerod
Dc42 do you have more details about these smoke detectors? The ordinary ones that will be mounted on the ceiling with a potential free contact or is there a design out there that will be mounted nearby the printer?by Treito - Duet
Erik in that case your first layer was too deep. BuildTak needs a complete different handling, but for me it didn't last long. I already killed three pieces within a week each.by Treito - Ormerod
The sensor works well with BuildTak, but it's not very durable. Once the height is a little bit too deep the surface gets permanently damaged. Even though I took care my last BuildTak got damaged when printing PETG. Next step will be that I will try Pertinax and soon I will try FilaPrint.by Treito - Ormerod
This is the reason for the iap.bin-file? I wasn't sure, but I took the file from your github, but already with Version 1.10. With that version I had trouble with overwriting, too. Is there any lately change?by Treito - Duet
I already changed the height for my E3D-clone-mounting, but I have not uploaded the files yet. Do you think that a neon-green (atomic-green) may work? The PLA is reflecting and a little bit shiny.by Treito - Ormerod
Besides that your sensor boards only transmit three or four signals so a small deviation should not matter.by Treito - Duet
I tried it three times, but the update didn't succeed even though it seemed like it was updating. QuoteElmoC I noticed that even though I got the could not delete message, the web page showed it had updated the firmware. I did it a second time with the renamed firmware file just to be sure and didn't get the error.by Treito - Duet
Okay it worked now. The strange thing was that at first I should not had had this file in the sys-directory.by Treito - Duet
I tried to upgrade from 1.11-dc42 via DWC 1.11, but that did not succeed as I got an error message "Can't rename file or directory /sys/RepRapFirmware-1.12-dc42.bin to /sys/RepRapFirmware.bin", so I really need to update via USB?by Treito - Duet
I only was asking as I want to have a design which fits mostly consumers or to offer at least some variations. It is okay if there is one mounting option, but I was confused about your problem with the homing tab. Meanwhile this nozzle has gone but the replacement hot-end is centered again.by Treito - Ormerod
I have no problems using my mounting adapters so I can use dc42's angled connector at the board. However for my own hot-end I had to lower the board so I redesigned both parts, but I did not upload them yet. I did not get your problem with my design as I also use the x-carriage, but only with a small mounting adapter und a new homing pad. The rest could be changed at the config.g to refit the sizby Treito - Ormerod
So you will say that brake cleaner destroy the PrintBite? No problem I will pick another one and test it by myself without break cleaner. Which one did you use? With Acetone or without?by Treito - General
