Are you using Skeinforge 39? I would have thought so judging by those very large extruder numbers. Use the gcode dictionary to check what your gcodes are doing: This is an older version of the dictionary and shows the codes that are deprecated: If you're using a stepper extruder (rather than a DC motor), a bunch of those gcodes need commenting out, using replace.csv in Skeinforge, along withby droftarts - Reprappers
Heading a bit off topic now, but what the hell, I think I'm going to buy the smaller motors for the Z-axes... @nophead - sorry about the confusion, I'm actually talking about putting the smaller motors on the Z-axes of BOTH my repstrap AND new Prusa build, and both machines will have the motors at the bottom. My repstrap has 5 of the 1684B motors at present, so I can swap out two of them for theby droftarts - General Mendel Topics

It losses most of it's rigidity at 60ºC, so I don't think it is a good idea to cast parts for a printer out of this. It probably goes soft at even lower temperatures! But it is good stuff to play around with, easy to use. And widely available already.by droftarts - For Sale
Also Thanks for the topic, I had a thought about this a couple of weeks ago, didn't pursue it, forgot all about it. Now I've checked it out!by droftarts - 3D Scanners, Book Scanners, and Optics
You could probably print/make something like this pretty easily Much cheaper than the Treventus, though much more manual intervention. It was a linked video on the side of the Treventus video you linked!by droftarts - 3D Scanners, Book Scanners, and Optics
You might be better off using ahmetcemturan's SFACT, which is a simplified version of SF41 - It's standard settings are close to what most people need, and is reorganised a little for reprap and clarity. If you want to persevere with SK41... You have no E (extruder) codes in your gcode! You need to turn on the 'Dimension' tab in Skeinforge. In the folder that holds the skeinforge.py application, there should be a folder called 'alterations'. If you haven't changed anything, this will be full of files called 'example_something', and either gcode or csv. There is an example_replace.csv. Get it working by duplicating it, editing it and renaming it "replace.csv" and going to the 'export' tab in SK. Activate export (it should be already)by droftarts - General
So cool. Any chance we might see the files on thingiverse, if both of you are amenable? Also, what about the carrier that actually changes direction? I can imagine a smaller version of this, geared to a reel holder, to allow neat transfer of filament onto reels.by droftarts - Hello. I need a something designed. For money.
1.) It's set in the 'temperature' tab in Skeinforge. Make sure it's activated, set the temperature the same as you have been in repsnapper. I tend to heat up the hot end before setting the gcode running. You will also want to check the gcode SK produces does not have gcodes in it you don't want eg M103, M108. Use this post to help: 2.) Have you calibrated the extruder for SK41? If not, the extruby droftarts - General
I agree with getting these things straight, but how critical it is depends entirely on your coupling. On my repstrap I have the motors at the bottom, so the weight of the x-axis is not pulling on the couplings. They are made out of 2 sizes of vinyl tubing (1/4" and 3/8" ), which is stiff enough to drive the leadscrew while allowing for some deflection, which is presumably why nophead ended up usiby droftarts - General Mendel Topics
Watts = Volts x Amps = 170W which should be fine - good to check though! For Prusa, don't expect metal z-axis motor couplers to last long either - they fatigue fail from the strain of misalignment and weight of the X axis. I think this is the current best design, from nophead If you're trying z-axis speed in repsnapper or similar, turn it right down and work upwards. @Chompalot - Here's the 'alternative' installation guide for the hobbed bolt. You need a half-nut, which goes behind the big gear, so the motor can't undo it. I don't know if it's any better or worse, but the hobbing is definitely on the shank. @Traumflug - yes, I think it would be better for Gen 7 1.4 to move to the molex KK connectors. Because then I could buy a Gen 7, and not have to re-wireby droftarts - Reprappers

Also, just noticed your temperature is very high! M104 S273.0 ;set temperature That's 273ºC! You may not even be able to get the temperature that high. ABS should be around 230-240ºC, PLA around 190-210º, though depends on your setup. dean448's gcode has M104 S170 So sets the temperature much lower. M104 sets the temperature and hands back control straight away to repsnapper, so it assumes that it has hit the target temperature already. I always manually pre-heat the hot end using repsnapper's manual controls. See here: dean448's gcode has M109 after M104; I guess this causes the gcode to wait for the hot end to warm up.by droftarts - RepSnapper
Could be it's waiting for the hot end to warm up; it pauses while it's doing this and won't accept more commands because of limited memory. I usually pre-heat my hot end with repsnapper, extrude 10-20mm to get it going, then run the gcode. I got the Gen 6 electronics, and they are good. However, delivery times from mendel-parts are very variable.
