MAKERBOT CLOSES GOOGLE SUPPORT GROUP 09.08.2014 Made by: Christian Arnø Today Tiffany Diorio closed down the makerbot support group at google. She wrote a post explaining why and then closed the forum so nobody could call her out on the bullshit she was serving. She goes on blaming spam on the forum as one of the reasons for shutting it down, but everyone on that forum knows the real reasoby A2 - General
Heavy duty router style 3d printer. Custom 3D Printer from RoboShop Inc.by A2 - Extruded Aluminum Frames
A company is going to KS (no idea when) with a 3d filament printer that can injection mold, only $8500.00. I've read that they also have a patent on a nozzle for filament extrusion, but one might assume there is a crossover to the hot end nozzle. So give it a try, and see how far you get.by A2 - General
X and Y axis determination, the longer of the two is typically designated the X-axis. If X and Y axis are of equal length, then the axis moving away from the operator is considered the Y axis. Or it's based on from where the operator faces the machine, for example, on most routers the gantry is considered the X axis, even though the Y axis is typically longer.by A2 - Polar Machines, SCARA, Robot Arms

Small part injection molding with a 3d printer Look for a resin that has a low viscosity, i.e. flows like water, less your object requirements dictate otherwise.by A2 - General
You wont have enough pressure to push the plastic into the corners. In addition the filament driver wheel will slip as the pressure increases. Take a look at some videos of the hand toggle operated injection molds, you will see that quite a bit of force is being exerted to push the plastic in. But I like to see people try, you never know, you could come up with an easy hack to make it work, butby A2 - General

I'm envisioning that a stepper motor is used, with 2 end stops on the needle shaft, with a bespoke thread, and foot guide. If you use a common sewing machine then only the needle tip needs to be calibrated. I updated my previous post, check out the linear hall effect sensor, it allows you to fine tune your end stop location either manually (potentiometer) or programmatically (requires extra codby A2 - General

OK, Tks for the pics! Terms need to be defined, the carriage is what translates along the gantry, i.e. the Y-axis, and the gantry translates along the X-axis. The carriage is not going to rack as it appears to not come close to the 2:1 ratio, but the gantry could rack, as the bearings violate the general rule of thumb of 2:1. My main concern would not be the belt configuration of the H-botby A2 - Reprappers
I understand the Core-XY configuration (which is inherently anti-racking), what I don't understand are your two proposals for the H-bot to prevent anti-racking.by A2 - Reprappers

Delrin is pretty close to an aluminum equivalent but with lubricious qualities, and the greater the impact force the better Delrin performs relative to competing plastics. QuoteMrDoctorDIV The only problem that CoreXY overcomes is the rotating of the gantry? To be clear: Rotating = anti-racking? So I can better understand, please provide a drawing of what you mean with your two points concerning the H-bot.
