Quoteorbitalair I seriously doubt you get good objects with a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.4mm layer height, the layers are barely sticking to each other. Exactly. .3mm is my max I can print with a .4mm nozzle. If I do .4 the prints are fragile and break easy because the layers dont bond well.by Floyd - Printing
Wow yea get that fixed. Looks like nothing is parallel in those pictures!by Floyd - CoreXY Machines
Also make sure you are printing internal then external on the perimeters. I had mine reversed at one time and showed the same thing.by Floyd - Printing
I use purple glue stick on clean glass for ABS and PLA with great results. 60c for PLA and 105-110c for ABSby Floyd - Reprappers
There is the issue. Flip it so its going over the top of the roll and not from under it!by Floyd - Printing
Mine did the same thing when I went to 1.1.8 Marlin version.by Floyd - Reprappers
Quotethe_digital_dentist Winner winner chicken dinner! It came out of a scrapped Stratasys machine. Awesome! Good to see parts being reused.by Floyd - CoreXY Machines
That looks like a heater bar from a Stratasys printer. I juts had to replace the blower fans in the printer at workby Floyd - CoreXY Machines
I use purple glue stick with PLA and it holds great!by Floyd - Printing
Where are the beep settings for the M600 command. Its INSANELY loud and id like to tone it down a bit. My wife woke up thinking the smoke alarm was going off last night! Im guessing it would be in the config.adv but wasnt sure. I already turned down the normal menu beeps to a light chirp and id like to do the same for the M600.by Floyd - Firmware - Marlin
Agreed. when you start a print it tries to home X Y and Z before printing.by Floyd - General
The STL is much better and round but your printer isnt printing close to a round shape. I think you have something wrong with your printer setup.by Floyd - Reprappers
Looks like you have some huge extrusion issues. Shouldnt have any issues with that file EDIT: After looking at the file in a slicer thats a terrible thing to try and print. The part is very low polygon resolution and the teeth are very tiny and only last maybe 2-3 layers total.by Floyd - Reprappers
Prints look good from what I can see.by Floyd - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Ive been using Cura for some time now on my i3 with great results. Tried Kissclicer and Slic3r and didnt care for them.by Floyd - Printrun/Pronterface
Download the latest Marlin and start getting it setup for his machine. Its a hassle at first but well worth having a copy of Marlin for your own machine setup.by Floyd - Firmware - Marlin
How can you temporarily grow your printer 100mm? Why not just set it at 400mm and leave it there.by Floyd - General
Have you measured the filament diameter? I have many spools and they are all a little different. It doesn't take much to not be right anymoreby Floyd - Reprappers
Thats fairly cold for ABS. I print mine at 240 the entire print. I cannot print one benchy out of ABS at a time because of cooling. Try printing 2 or more to improve the print.by Floyd - Printing
I agree. I was just answering his question. Motors, bearings and the lot are fairly "cheap" for a build. The brains are the most expensive bit. The Duet is a GREAT board and I understand the price. I make things for a living so I know. Its just I can buy quite a few cheap Ramps that "work" at the price of one Duet. Just part of the conversation, not looking to hang you out DCby Floyd - Reprappers
QuoteSimba Sure, which ones are you looking at? Duet Wifi. Would love to have one but for 170 bucks or so its a bit out of reach so im forced to use the cheap Ramps combo.by Floyd - Reprappers
Control boards!by Floyd - Reprappers
Your heater isnt heating up fast enough or it cannot keep the temperature. Make sure you dont have a fan in the room going. I cant print ABS temps with my ceiling fan turned on because the bed heater cannot keep up with it blowing.by Floyd - General
QuoteArnold #if ENABLED(THERMAL_PROTECTION_HOTENDS) #define THERMAL_PROTECTION_PERIOD 40 // Seconds #define THERMAL_PROTECTION_HYSTERESIS 4 // Degrees Celsius I have mine set at 70 period and 4 hysteresisby Floyd - General
Did you have a fan going? I had this issue with the latest Marlin and had to back the runaway settings up a little to keep from getting this error.by Floyd - General
ABS needs a bit of time with cooling. I could never print one benchy and have it look good. When I printed two at the same time it looked much better.by Floyd - Printing
Can you use gears and such instead of a long continuous belt?by Floyd - General
How big is that part? Are you printing just one at a time? That second picture from the top almost looks like underextrusion but its hard to tell with the glare and all. ABS likes to go slower and have loads of time to solidify. I print mostly all ABS and I print at no faster than 40mm/sec and print at about 240cby Floyd - Printing
