I need to have a stepper motor in the middle of a long (500mm) smooth shaft, as i need output on both ends. Non-Captive steppers seem to be made for threaded acme lead screws, hollow steppers seem made to allow for wires or other items through the middle. I want to insert a 8mm shaft through a nema 17/23 stepper and secure it to the middle of the smooth shaft, I can grind a flat spot to secure iby makerparts - Mechanics

I try to keep the temps low to keep the oozing under control. I will increase the retraction to 1.5mm i heard the retraction speed shouldnt be crazy fast.. so i will turn it down to 30mm/secby makerparts - Printing
I currently use Simplify3d but im finding that its not getting updated very often. feels like its stalled are there any new innovative slicers out now that have some cool new features. I heard about a slicer that would adapt layer height based on model detail. which sounds very cool so some layers are thick and some thin. choosing automaticallyby makerparts - General

OK I figured it out. As I saw it happen by chance 2hrs into a print. The nozzle/heated block has excessive petg buildup. The buildup touched a the print at one point with enough grab to make it skip steps. I took this opportunity to replace the heat block and nozzle with a new one that I had waiting for a rainy day with the new e3d silicone covers and Re ran the same geode and it printed perfectlby makerparts - General
I heard that if you run a small nozzle on a volcano. the filament cooks for too long. and this isnt good. But i dont know why its not good.by makerparts - General

I purchased a E3D PT100 and it looks almost identicle to the standard new Thermistor E3D makes same colour wires, same length. no writing anywhere to identify it. how can i test that the PT100 i got is really a PT100 and not just another thermistor?by makerparts - General
The e3d silicone hotend caps really help with petg buildup But they don't last that long. I had one already start to fall apart around the nozzle tip after 1 month. I guess that's why they sell a three packby makerparts - General

for a 120v Heated bed. you connect it from the mains 120v power into a SSR (Solid State relay) that is controlled via PID on your 3d controller.by makerparts - General
