So the above image, shows us the pins are from top to bottom, +5v, signal and gnd So +5v pin should obviously go to the 5v pin of the mega on aux-1 And the 0v should go to the gnd pin on the mega on aux-1 For now I would just connect up these two pins. When you put the firmware.bin on the sd card in the root of the fat32 (dos) filesystem , put the sd into the re-arm, turned it on and waited a good 5 mins After then if you examine the sd card, had it renamed the file to firmware.CUR ? if not the firmware failed Make sure you downloaded firmware.binby Dust - Controllers

what amplifier board are you using, and what pins from the amplifier board are you putting on those ramps pins. If you have a lot of other crap on your ramps (lcd, servos) remove those for now as you may simply be over loading the 5v rail.by Dust - RAMPS Electronics
this is very strange... no idea whats causing it, but suspect some sort of gnd issue between 12v and 5v gnd lines. (as motfets control gnd lines) This shouldn’t be needed but... You could try a optoisolator to a free io pin eg just use 5v on the HV side, then drive a external mosfet board with that Then just update your firmware so the hot end is on the new IO pin.by Dust - RAMPS Electronics

On a ramps the headed bed is on the 11amp rail. It is the only thing on the 11amp rail. Thus putting 24volt in the 11amp (and making the fuse change) and putting 12v into the 5amp works fine. make sure your hotend and your hotend thermistors are in the correct place on the controller, and aren’t shorting to each other manually try just turning on the hot end, does it reboot every time (eg send the printer a M104 S190) It could just be your power supply is to weak.. heated bed is fine, but heated bed + hotend it to much and browns out the controller.by Dust - Firmware - Marlin
I3 is more of a general shape and axis configuration than anything else. They have different mechanics, different endstop configurations, different thermistors or even thermocouples, and different extrudes. I am also considering putting a diamond head on a hypercube. With all the extruders just on the top back tslot. The main issue is that this printer is largely built in place. It not meant to have the E3D mount removed form the x carriage. You have to disassemble it. (blower fan and fan ducts cover mounting screw heads.)
