With my knowledge nickel-sensors are named "NI(xxx)" for nickel ... and "PT" is meant for platinum

... for some decent "microfabrication" in sort of a DIY approach you can use lasers with a fine spot - common fiberlasers have spot diameters around 30 microns, with different optics even down to below 10 microns.
Here I was testing with "laser assisted thermo-transfer" of previously applied spray paint with a fiber laser (30 micron spot) and a blue laser-diode (80 micron spot) - in the videos w

... I've done some temp. sensor development with PT100, PT1000 and Ni200, where the sensing target range was between 0°C to 1000°C -- is pretty easy, when the curve is nearly linear, as with the PT sensors ...

Firmware - Marlin
... it's possible, but not so easy, to modify Marlin to do what you want - I had to tweak it for different reasons too some years ago.
Essentially you'll have to add some G-codes and change the parser for moving the spezific motors separate -- e.g. something like using "Z", "Z1" and "Z2" in your moving G-codes.
For example: "G1 X Y Z E F" will move both axes together - while ".. Z1 .." or ".. Z

... assembling another high quality "variant" for engraving and cutting "organic" materials -- it's a 10Watt-RF-CO2-laser with a galvohead, 2.5x-beam-expander and 50x50mm scan area.
With the small scan area it's enough energy density to cut throug some mm acrylic ... for bigger working area the laser with galvohead will be set ontop of a 500x500mm XY-CNC -- the software is capable of splitting b

... I've got some "internal" numbers from Texas for life-span of their DMD's when exposed to UV radiation without UV-filter ... was then interested in using beamers for 3D-printing with UV-sensitive resins and 405nm LED's or 355nm lasers.
They stated some ten hours max., more like 2-4 hours
