I have the same problem after moving my electronics inside my kossel (=directly underneath the heated bed) the elctronics are protected from the heat by a case I printed, but the cables going to the display can come in contact with the heat. It worked fine for some prints, but the last two prints needed me to fiddle the cables and the sdcard around 10 minutes until it recognized the card. those w

hey there!
My printer is right on my desk, so I want it to be as quiet as possible. Therefore I use 40mm Noiseblocker fans for part cooling, which are inaudible, compared to the E3Dv6's 30mm cooling fan, which is the the printer's loudest part.
does anyone know some 30mm fans which are really quiet? I know it's hard because they are so tiny and still have to move enough air, but I'd be glad if

found out I somehow fried the voltage regulator. Found this tutorial for fixing it:
also, I got the endstops wired incorrectly.
so, for now I'm running the Arduino with a USB power plug like for smartphones until my order of voltage regulators arrives.
I'll leave this here for others to find.

There is an Elephant sitting on the reset button of Arduino. I can clearly see him on every picture you've attached
fetched the elephant and brought it back to the zoo. arduino still doesn't start \=

Hey,
after printing a case for my Arduino/Ramps 1.4, and a full re-wiring, including adding plugs and proper connectors to most wires instead of just twisting them together and fixing it with tape, I started my printer and the display didn't do anything. Only the extruder fan, which is hardwired to the power input, started working. If I try to connect pronterface, it says this:

Okay, then I'm gonna look for a new 1117, as well as for options on Backlight connection.
As a workaround, I connected the printer's USB to my phone's charger, which seems to provide enough energy for the display to stop flickering.
thanks again for your help!

Thanks guys! first thing I did was order a new mega board, to be on the safe side. Now for saving this one.
So If I replace the faulty 1117, I should replace it with a stronger one, right? which one should I use?
Also, How do I recognise an Arduino variant with a more powerful voltage regulator? It mentions the taurino, are there other versions / where to find information on this?

thanks for the reply, enif.
okay, I did plug in the endstops the wrong way, I remember doing multiple m119's and cursing about bad documentation of my supplier.
Is there any way to fix this or can I just get a new Arduino Board? Also, are there other errors to be expected?

Hi,
I recently moved to a new place, therefore disassebled my kossel, now after putting it back together again, found myself with display issues. Mainly, the Printer will only work when a USB connection to the computer is established. The hotend and electronics fans are hardwired to the power supply, they turn on the moment I turn on the Power, but the display only lighty up when connected to US

okay, so now I found the accel and jerk settings at standard, meaning accel 3000, vxy-jerk 20 and vz-jerk 20. i set those to 900, 13 and 15, which already made for better results. for a time.
then, the printer stopped extruding altogether, which made me completely clean the nozzle, which finally solved it.
now all I have to do is get rid of oozing, thanks guys!

So, after days filled with other things, I now have at least time to answer. Thanks for your suggestions McCrman and bryanandaimee!
First, the Suggestions were right, this is just the way cura calls things. I print in PLA, gonna set the temperature and retraction lower.
I've actually never changed or even read the accel and jerk settings, do I set them in Marlin or in the slicer? Same goes for

Hi MCcarman, thanks for the reply.
Setting the Nozzle Size to 0.35 was actually recommended in the instructions video that came with the printer kit. Now I changed the Nozzle Size and the Flow rate to 0.4 and 100% and got the attached result , which seems to be slightly better.
So I tried it with a Layer height of 0.1, and the result was horrible. I have no Idea what happened, I'm assuming un

Hi,
recently I found a strange thing happening on my Kossel XL. several Objects printed in 0.1 or 0.2 mm layer hight start having extreme underextrusion after some layers.
See 3Dbenchy attached. The settings for both are
Shell 1.05
Fill Density 20%
Temp 225
Bed 50
Flow 110%
Nozzle Size 0.35
Print Speed 30
Travel Speed 100
Infill Speed 50
Outer shell speed 30
Inner shell speed 40

Thanks for the explanation. Indeed, I removed all the electronics from under the bed of the Kossel to a place next to it, and placed a fan onto it, and now it works. Thanks mate!

Yes, it's a RAMPS 1.4, sorry for not mentioning it earlier. Which part of the ramps are the polyfuses?

Hi,
my heated bed can't keep temperature. When I try to set a temperature, the bed will heat for a considerable amount of time, and then drop down to room temperature and refuse to heat anymore until the printer was turned off and the plate cooled down.
By exambple with a set temperature of 75°C the temperature rises to 61°C, and then drops again to 19°C. It is not always 61°C. sometimes its le

Hi Kurzaa,
I'm sorry, but I don't entirely understand what you mean. if I test my endstops in pronterface, they work fine. what do you mean by shortening the power rail and 3v3?

Hi!
I'm assembling a Kossel XL, using an Arduino Mega, a RAMPS 1.4 Board, and Marlin.
connecting the Arduino to the computer is fine, Display shows normal temepratures around 37°C
But as soon as I power up the main power supply, the temperature on the display starts rising, reaching 300°C and a MAXTEMP Error after ~3min. It keeps rising afterwards, until I unplug the power.

Hi there!
I am currently having issues calibrating my Kossel XL Printer, because the Y channel isn't moving. (when homing all, X and Z are homing correctly while Y doesn't move at all)
I tested all Endstops with pronterface, they all worked.
I arranged the potentiometers to be all set to something around 490. - I tested this with ~850 for the Y Axis, but it did noch change anything.
I switched
