Quotethe_digital_dentist I don't know how much experience you have at 3D printing, but after you've printed a bunch of stuff, you develop an understanding for what works and what doesn't, what's printable and what isn't. Then you look at designs on Thingiverse and Youmagine and start to realize how many unprintable designs are there. It's not too hard to spot the junk "designs". The first clueby MKSA - General
QuoteAmyTheBun maybe I can replace the shafts and bearings? I heard drylin have to be press-fit or otherwise are too loose. or 3d print pla bearings. even tho they could melt in an enclosure and last time I tried I had no luck. I should add that my shaft doesn't vibrate whatsoever tbh. neither does my bearing. it's just the belt + pulley + y carriage. maybe if I get a/make a lighter carriage fby MKSA - Printing
QuotePippy Yes 3D printer is adding to the plastic problem we have created for the world, but it can also reduce the problem if properly used. We can do this by printing a new plastic part to replace that broken plastic part that would have otherwise meant the entire what-ever-it-is we're fixing would have been trashed if it weren't for our 3D printing a replacement plastic part A few days agoby MKSA - Printing

Quotesinned QuoteMKSA With the Sbase, just use a TFT32 display, cheap and less hassle. How does that connect to the mainboard? Discussed earlier in this thread and documented in MKS doc as they produce both. Time to drop support of outdated stuff. Quotedc42 No, you should NEVER configure a Z probe to be a Z endstop in RRF. Instead you should use a G30 command in homez.g and in the Z homing section of homeall.g. See . Why ? ? It is what I do.by MKSA - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future

QuoteOhmarinus Just a thought, but do you think it would be an idea to add a belt around both axes or a sting that is looped around then a couple of times so that the axes also keep each other physically in sync? It is the way to go. One motor plus closed loop belt. Synchronous belts have been "invented" decades ago to address this.by MKSA - Firmware - Marlin

Epoxy can be found in plenty of stores ! It is not cheap but you dont need a lot ! This: is a good example of a bad use of it (not strong) and a waste ! You have to make the hole of the bearing holders oversized, smear the inside and the bushings outside with epoxy, install the bushings in them, then install the smooth rod through the bushings and let the epoxy hardens.by MKSA - Mechanics

I had been thinking about belt reduction on the x/y for small nozzle stuff. Worm would be neater, but I'm concerned aboit backlash. Backlash is not an issue unless one use auto bed leveling. QuoteStlLooking The better idea, IMHO, is using a TFT28 or TFT32 with a RAMPS 1.4 (low cost and works great) or MKS-Gen-L board. The TFT have 32-bit Arm CPUs and they just feed the main board the steps as needed. It is the same process as the Klipper without a Pi.
