Well, by defination, it is a repstrap as none of the parts are printed. I would agree that the price point was good, however, at it's current price, I would not buy it again.by buzzard192 - For Sale

Also, a word of warning... For all of the boxes that James shipped to me, I would get a shipment notification. Some of the emails came from him, some from paypal. In either case, this is when he printed the label. Usually, this was a week or TWO before he actually shipped the boxes. A question to all who have gotten their kits... can someone tell me which thermistor he is using? Unfortunatby buzzard192 - For Sale

Kris posted in the electronics forum with a question regarding making sense of his heater/temp circuit. I threw out James's idea - partly because he has two different circuit diagrams on his site and he did not provide me with all the parts needed to do either one. I have gone with standard reprap circuit for the heater/temp and it is working. Cost me $5 including shipping from DigiKey. I wby buzzard192 - For Sale
Kris, I was trying to make sense of his diagrams. I finally decided to throw out his ideas and go with more standard reprap design. James did not provide me with all the parts to do either of his diagrams. I bought all the parts from Digikey that I needed for a little over $5 including shipping. I got the heater and temp sensor working yesterday. I will post the info later today. Buzzby buzzard192 - Controllers
Re: Top Mount That is essentially what I did. I took a threaded rod and cut it into 3" pieces and threaded those into the couplers. Mounting the feeder on one of those wings is one of the options I am considering.by buzzard192 - General New Machines Topics
I too had to carve out the motor holes and also the hole for the shaft/gear to go through to fit my motor - can't really complain about that... This is great deal. Thanks for selling more! Buzzby buzzard192 - For Sale
My comments about the issues listed, and then some... Buzz Y-Motor Mount Lower Plate My solution was to place the plate on the table with the motor on top. The bottom plate is not attached to the rest of the assembly in any way, shape, or form. I too saw the issue and did not want the printer rocking on the bolt. The motor is held in place by an angled bolt at the back and washers in the frby buzzard192 - General New Machines Topics
I have my profound printer fully assembled, with the exception of the extruder circuit. I know how James intended it; however, my kit was missing the 1K resistor and one bearing. I emailed him a few days (perhaps a week) ago about this, but he has not responded. It really is not an issue for me - I am not using his extruder drive mechanism. I do not have faith in it and did not want to wastby buzzard192 - General New Machines Topics
The places that I looked at do not charge for support material, only for the volume of plastic. I can not remember which one it was, but they stated that if you create a hollow space with no opening to the outside, the support material would remain in the void. I contemplated designing a hollow box and having them print it, just so I could see what they use for support. Buzzby buzzard192 - General Mendel Topics

@Jeffrey - Were you able to resolve the Errors? I am seeing this also on with James's code. I am not sure if it his Arduino code, or a Windows issue on my end. Buzzby buzzard192 - RepRap Host
@Eagleton - Interesting idea. In order to use the play-doh as support material, it would have to be fluid enough to flow into the holes that are being made (instead of the teardrop holes). I'm not sure if play-doh can be made fluid enough to flow into a model and remain rigid enough to support the piece as a whole. Perhaps it can... The other concern I have is if you are pushing the model intby buzzard192 - General New Machines Topics
For those that don't keep an eye on his youtube page, James has posted a new video. Making a raft and starting to print a circle @Jeffrey - I got the larger one to mount on the y-axis. @Jeffrey - It looks like you might have the motors backwards. The all black ones are the high-torque motors that James intended for the x and y axis. The silver/black ones are for the z-axis since it does not have to move as fast and there are two of them, there isn't as high of a torque requirement. I might be wrong in this... if you think otherwise, let me know, because I would have to switby buzzard192 - For Sale

@Kelly - How James tightens his bolts is one thing... I tighten mine with wrenches. Since he is selling the kit, not a fully assembled unit, this is not an issue to me. @Jeffrey - One note I have from when I assembled my frame... it might be a good idea to get some regular washers to put between the lock washers and plastic parts. I was leery of the lock washers against the plastic, but did it anyway. The few that I had to loosen to adjust really dug into the plastic and tore it up. Just food for thought.
