Hi,
I've have amount 4 printers now, so I have a lot of spare electronics.
I remembered I could motorize my camera slider with it.
The mechanical part is almost done, I'm still deciding if I use a threaded rod or some pulleys to move the slider.
What I want: to use the arduino+LCD module (I have one of those with a rotary and SDcard, but I dont really need the SDcard part) to power the motor to

So I'm back to building printers, after some years of having no time for this.
Now with kids, its time to build some for them, so they can learn from it like I did.
Now that I have less time in my life to tinker with printers, I need quicker solutions when sourcing components to build 2 printers.
So I turned to ReprapWorld.com where I've bought some stuff in the past, and ordered lots of stuff i

I have and happily working i3 Prusa and she works almost every day.
Since I'm having a little more time, I thought I could try to revive my old Prusa I've built a few years back.
It has a RAMPS v1.2 and I'm having problems in the very first part: ARDUINO.
For starters I get the Marlin version I use on my Prusa i3, and upload it to my old printer with no errors.
Of course it does not work, becaus

Firmware - mainstream and related support
I've recently bought a E3D hotend.
I'm still on the number changing game to get it right.. it seas I need to set at much higher temperatures to get the same results I'm used to with PLA, but that is not the reason for this post.
I have a different problem with it:
When I set a target temperature, the firmware raises temperature until it is almost there and shuts off 4 or 5 degrees before, expect

Being a hardware guy myself, that was my first thought. 3 position switch: GCODE mode, OFF, and Always ON.
But then I realize... I have a cute LCD screen with menus, why not try to do it right?
Hardware option will be failsafe go to. But I was hopping for some firmware wizards to help me do it the right way

Thanks Dust, but that is not what I'm looking for.
If i wanted to change GCODE on the file, I would just take that option on slic3r before export.
I need it at mid print, if I see some sagging and I want to turn the fan ON all the time.

Sometimes while printing I see some sagging and I want to turn the fan ON all the time.
You can do that on the Marlin Menu TUNE. But when somewhere in the GCODE the fan is told to shut off.. then the code wins.
I need an option om my Marlin Menu that tells the printer to ignore FAN gcode and let the speed I set be constant.
I know how to add menus to the Marlin firmware... My problem is the best

Firmware - mainstream and related support
Hi,
back form the dead 3 years ago with my mendel prusa, nad tonokip alteres firmware,
I now have a prusa i3 with Marlin.
I've been googling like crazy and still can't find nowhere where all the menu itens on the MArlin menu are explained.
I see some sites with the menu tree, but none with them explain (what does each item does). Example: " Menu> Tune> Flow" of course I know what that does.

OK problem solved!
Sometimes before finding a solution, you must first make sure you're on the best path.
I've just went the hardware way: soldered a button to the connections on the knob reserved for the internal switch
This will do fine until my chinese smart lcd arrives

My Marlin is fresh installed, so it should be clean as downloaded from the web.
I notice that all the LCD work is done at: dogm_lcd_implementation.h
And i can see " #define LCD_CLICKED (buttons&EN_C)" in there. But can't find out where that leads

Yap.. while installing a knob on the jog dial of my smart LCD, I push it too far, and not I can rotate and the selections changes, but pushing the button does nothing.
The smart lcd has a "light" button that does nothing.
Where in Marlin can I assign that button instead of the push knob for selection?
thanks

the spanish site prices wore before taxes, so the prices got very similar, and I prefered the frame on the 3dlabtek printer and ordered there.
Thanks everybody

Thanks Gforce1, the spanish printer is way cheaper, and since its much closer to me (Portugal) it will probably ship faster.
Any reviews on their printers? as being so much cheaper, do I loose some quality?

Hi guys.
Trying to revive my Prusa from the dead. Been there for 3 years now.
Problem is: the Z motors seam to stall. So.. I desassebled them, got 2 new motors and connected them direcctly to Ramps. Just the free motors not connected to the mechanical printer.
Problem in testing is the same with the old and new motors: works fine on one motor, but when I connect the second motor it stalls?
both

Is Mendel90 a good choice? It has too many printed parts and the dev post seams like an year old..
the 3dlabtek has more aluminum parts.. I'm leaning on that one
