Cura isn't open source, but there are other slicers where you can study their source code. (eg. slic3r ) I guess it's a combination of trackwidth x layerheight, e-steps and acceleration/momentary speed. Then count in extrusion factors or mixing ratios and such...by o_lampe - General

In Cura/preferences you can check the box 'Scale big parts', but IDK if it tells you the true scale ratio. It maybe shows 83% scale, where it really was 82.6789% It is safer to manually scale down the parts with the same ratio to make them fit together afterwards.by o_lampe - General

The G21 error is not the cause for the gaps. Maybe there is missing something in your slicers startcode? ( like a semikolon before a comment ) But I also doubt it's wrong nozzle height. If you hear it plop, it is most likely moisture. It seems 2 hours in the oven wasn't enough. ( I'm not an expert in drying filament ) When you adjust nozzle height, you probably have to use 'M500' to store the neby o_lampe - Reprappers

We've seen a few approaches to build pick & place machines with polar ( radial? ) Delta geometry. Marcs ( M_Xeno ) remarks about the complexity of building precise stuff with Hylite is a bit discouraging, but I see a huge (weight) benefit to build one_piece polar arms with Hylite. Using the belt as rack&pinion is interesting for CNC, but I wouldn't like the moving mass of the stepper on a 3D printer. In your case, you won't be able to use the dual idlers as tensioners. You'd have to use two stationary idlers and two moveable idlers. A simple rule is: all belt segments that change length have to be 'true'.by o_lampe - CoreXY Machines

Z-axis steps depend on leadscrew pitch and step angle. The default 4000 z-steps relate to 0.8mm pitch ( M5 leadscrew ) and 1.8 stepper. You could disconnect the leadscrews and test the motors without load. Regarding Vref: you should be able to read the value of the shunt resistors.
