I've been told not to say anything....by waitaki - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Well, I do (did) it quite different. * Remove the filament * Level the bed cold - made no difference if it was heated. * Heat up the bed (at 90C that's enough for me) * Heat up the hot end to working temp * Clean nozzle tip with kitchen wipe then adjust the nozzle gap to 0.1mm or just below * Re-install filament Finishby waitaki - Reprappers
It would have really helped if the video didn't have that racket playing in the background - listening to a machine working is as important as watching it.by waitaki - Reprappers
The reason usually is because, if one of the switch wires breaks or falls off, the motor will not keep trying to drive through it (or something like that). Having said that, I have never used that configuration coz' I use reed switches - never had a problem as they are so reliable.by waitaki - General

Start by pulling the thermistor plug from the ramps connector and measuring the resistance of the the thermistor at the plug you just removed. It should read around 100k (for a 100k thermistor) at room temp + or - 10k is normal. Does your host software show the thermistor at room temp?by waitaki - General

While waiting for it..... Have you got 12v on D9+ ? If so, check the bottom of the Ramps board for a damaged trackby waitaki - Reprappers

Yes, put a load resistor on the power supply as Gordon stated - say 5W or some other load. You cant use 5v on the RAMPS power inputs - they are both 12v.by waitaki - General Mendel Topics
That's right, but before you crunch it into G-code, it would be worth running it through Netfabb (free d/l available) just to check it is manifold.by waitaki - General
Well, maybe, you could click "pause" during the print, then command the z axis down a fraction then click "resume". But...I don't use repetier so don't know if it works on that s/wareby waitaki - Printing
I am not sure whether the Arduino can handle the type of signal that a proximity (inductive) switch delivers? Just a thought...by waitaki - Printing
Try a continuity test.... Stick one meter probe on the 12v negative input (11A) screw and the other probe on D8+ (Do you see 12v?) If so, put the meter lead on D8- . If you see 12v there also, then the bed in not switched on in your host software, or, if it is on in the host then the Mosfet is not being switched on for some reason. If you see 0v on D8- then all is probably ok there and it may beby waitaki - Reprappers
You need to adjust the voltage of the Pololu driver chip. Also, do you have 3 jumpers installed under the driver?by waitaki - Reprappers
Yes, as above - I also place a piece of thick card (or some better insulator) on top of the bed when I power it on Seems to reach temp quicker as there is less heat being lost to the surroundings.by waitaki - Reprappers
Ok guys, I'll chip in here... The "Nozzle manufacturing" video suggested by Matt Moses is my upload and I can assure you it is very easy to do - I made a couple more just 2 days ago! All you need to know is in the video - I could make a hundred a day if I needed to - maybe I should and start selling 'em! I intended to do a follow up regarding shaping the tip to finish it off but drilling the nutby waitaki - General
You have a short circuit in your wiring to the thermistor or the thermistor is shorting to the heater blockby waitaki - General
I would call them and point out their error - there is no reason why they cannot dispatch the correct one immediately and wait for the wrong board to be returned.by waitaki - Controllers
When you short a driver chip like that it often blows all the drivers. It is very important therefore, that one driver chip only should be inserted and adjusted for voltage. When the first one is done, remove it and place the second one in and adjust, and so on for the remainder. When they are all done, then install them all.by waitaki - RAMPS Electronics
Hi Clogs, You can also cure the washer/ bearing problem by "dishing" the washers. I used a metal rod with a rounded end (or centre punch) and just struck the centre of the washer (the hole) into a wood cavity.by waitaki - New Zealand RepRap User Group
